We know he's awful. I agree it seems clear Flashpoint is being used to attempt to salvage the DC movies. A soft reboot can keep the things that work with audiences -- Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam -- jettison what outright didn't work -- BvS, JL, Erza's Flash, etc. -- while conveniently explaining the disappearance of things audiences did seem to kind of like but that will not be continuing -- Afleck's Batman. I just think it sucks they're wasting an entire movie to get there by having Ezra's Flash in it.
Oh goodie...... Rumor: Jessica Chastain in Talks to Play Gender-Swapped Reverse-Flash in The Flash - Bounding Into Comics
Why? Why not just make her into a new speedster? Why does every character these days have to be swapped in some way? Can't they just create new ones?
it's a long shot but Spoiler I'm half wondering if Erza Millers' "Crisis" cameo might wind up canon whenever this film comes out. Based on the clip, it seems Millers' version doesn't use the name FLASH yet in his universe. How much would fans love it if the actual Flash movie started off with Erza redoing the "My name is Barry Allen & a friend gave me an idea for an new name" bit???
I can't imagine it making any difference at this point. The Snyderverse movies have already gotten every single thing possible about Barry Allen and the Flash completely wrong, so how would getting Reverse Flash right help anything now?
1. That's Bounding into Comics. Take it with a HUGE grain of salt. 2. If they hadn't already cast Iris, a younger Chastain would've been perfect for the role. Her as Thawne would be so weird. Though I also wish they saved Flashpoint and Reverse Flash for the sequel. Just have some fun with the Rogues and worry more about establishing Flash and his cast.
My money is on that being the last time we see Miller’s Flash. Everything I’ve seen about this film’s development makes me think it’ll end up like the Channing Tatum Gambit movie.
That's an odd choice to gender swap Reverse Flash... I wonder if the TV series has any bearing on how the directors/writers are approaching this film? Flashpoint is already an odd starting point for the first Flash movie in the DCEU and now they're talking about gender-bending the main villain? Very weird.
Now, ignoring the dubiousness of the source, hear me out... Eobard could have a daughter or something, who time travels to destroy the Flash for ruining her father. It's a stretch, and still pretty stupid. But at least it would make a "new character" instead of pointlessly gender-swapping the original guy, even if she'd be playing the same role anyway. But this is Bounding Into Comics. I only visited that site once, commenters and the general content of what they post immediately told me I didn't want to frequent it.
Aquaman was at least a fun character in the JL movie. They didn't really fix anything. Even in his solo movie, he was still a billion miles away from having Aquaman's personality. "You do your best thinking when you aren't thinking at all," is something no one should ever be able to say to Arthur. But oh well, they made him a meathead. But they somehow also made him entertaining.
Ya, idk, could be joking around. Can't really tell if he was choking her, she looks like she's smiling the whole time, and he gently brings her down to the ground slowly.
Looks like a video someone decided they wanted attention and spun it out of context to me. If Miller was seriously trying to choke someone she wouldn't be moving with him nor would they be moving so slowly.
Whatever the truth of the matter is, this film needs to be redone. Scrap the time-travel/Flashpoint element because it's too wide. Stick with smaller-scale villains who could fit the Flash's speedster ability. Flash has an underrated rogues' gallery who would be great to see in a big-budget feature film. The Mirror Master - a villain who can use mirrors to make replicas, and can also travel through mirrors and trap people in them. The Shade - a thief who can travel through/control shadows. The Turtle - a villain who can slow down people. The Folded Man - A supervillain who can flatten/fold his body into a two dimensional form which allows him to change size and travel between dimensions. Captain Boomerang would be nice, after all his debut in Suicide Squad made him sort of underwhelming. But since he's a part of the Suicide Squad, that's not going to happen for now.
Heh, my takeaway from all this is: what the fuck are all these people doing out a nightclub in the first place?? According to the "victim's" friend, that's where it happened. Shouldn't these fools all be at home? And better yet, aren't all clubs and whatnot supposed to be closed? Either way, something's off about this whole thing.
Watched the video. I don’t know. It almost looks like a play fight. She looks like she could be smiling the whole time that he takes her down. And that didn’t look like he was slamming anyone to the ground. I don’t know. Seems odd for sure.
