What so great about Roadking is that he has TT's clever engineering AND FT's high quality and materials.

FT needs to pull this off more often.

 

Those comparison pictures just pushed me over the edge....I just had to order a second Road King for alt mode.

I wasn’t going to do it, but man this figure just blows the competition away.

 

I've had him since he first came out and I still fiddle with him. He's so much fun and I am still amazed that they incorporated the entire trailer with him unlike those other two and it's condensed into a minor backpack. You can barely tell when looking at comparison pics.

 

I would say that is the right move. You will either be happy with the decision or be able to sell it later. If you decide later you don't want to keep the second one it probably won't be hard to break even at a minimum selling the second one once stores sell out again.

I'm amazed XTB got a similarly sized backpack with absolutely no trailer in the bot.

 

Gah! I double-dipped as well! Not my usual MO but he is a great figure.

I'm still scratching my head at how Gravestone doesn't even utilize his trailer in his transformation but yet is grossly out of scale with insane amounts of kibble on his back. What a trainwreck of a figure!?

 

 

It's a perfect example of the backpack isn't a problem in and of itself, it is a question of what is accomplished in exchange for having such a backpack. Gravestone and Roadking have comparable backpacks, but what we get out of the backpack is so different.

 

Well, the truck that Gravestone turns into is significantly larger than Roadking's cab. So there's alot of bulk there. I still prefer Gravestone overall for looks. Roadking is impressive enough for me to order him though.

 

Gravestone has the best legs and especially the feet, Roadking upper body and arms, and Gravestone again takes the headsculpt.

I think Gravestone has the worst head sculpt. His forehead looks squashed.

Capone's forearms look a bit long.

 

It really is. Fanstoys is just clearly the best of the three, and that is not knocking the other two as they do look good, but it's just not even close, and add in that the limb bots are seeker sized like they were in the cartoon and Fanstoys is just clearly head and shoulders above the others on these combiners.

That just depends on what you are looking for I suppose. Gravestone does look really good, but as it's clearly inferior to Roadking.







Gravestone's headsculpt is not like any of these.

 

I’m a fairly new Masterpiece level collector...I don’t have very many. As a matter of fact, growing up we didn’t have very many Transformers due to the cost.

However, I did have the entire Stunticon team as a kid....and fortunately...I still have them to this day. Out of all my toys, it’s all I have from when I was a kid....so this team is really special to me.

When Transformission announced their Havoc....I patiently waited and got the entire team....it was off from G1 but I thought I was content....then X-Transbots announced their stunticons...so I started investing in that team, and sold off the Transformmission set as I really wanted a G1 accurate set.

But then, holy crap...Fanstoys. I’ve heard of Fanstoys....but never owned their work. When I saw Fanstoys stunicon set, I was sold. I tried to talk myself into going with XTransbots still especially since they were A. Cheap...and B...coming out quickly...but at the end of the day I sold off my Breakdown and wildrider and I’m waiting out this set.

RoadKing is everything I’ve wanted in a MotorMaster.. he’s my first Fanstoys product...and I’m really impressed (especially with Takara products literally falling apart now)

My biggest problem was that I could only have him in either alt or robot...so I’m stoked I can display both now that I’ve decided to double up. I guess now that I’m going down this path I’ll probably pick up an extra spoiler when he’s reissued too.

Call me a Fanboy I guess, I’m sold.

I'm a compulsive double dipper, myself. I have sort of established boundaries with it, though...only allowed on my top 5 favorites.

 

Haha, it’ll probably be with just this particular set...but man, not gonna lie...after getting RoadKing I’ve been eyeballing their other releases. The quality, design, and esthetic is just amazing.
