Damn, I'll have to check my figure over when I get home from vaycay. So far the only breakage I know of was my own fault.

 

Look at how long it took them to send the replacement blade that came for Caelus in the Triton box? Months no? Eventually they did make one and send it though. Still it was an absurdly long process.

 

Sorry, wish I could give them to you, but I ended up gluing them into place so I don't know how I'd get them all out without damaging.

 

This has probably already been asked, but would it be possible to use the head from the Generations FOC Megs figure on this guy? It would be a bit undersized, but I think the Generations figure has a better sculpt (and looks meaner/angrier).

 

He would look like he has a shrunken head from Ecuador lol

 

the PX figure is between voyager and leader sized, the Generations figure is deluxe. So probably not

I was planning to get this guy next. I love his alt mode. But now seeing this thread & the breakage reports I'm not sure if I should. What do you think? Is it worth it to take a chance? I was gonna order from TFsource so they'll help me out if it breaks or is missing any pieces.

 

What dxp said. I actually Transformed mine last night hammered and it went flawlessly. I did snap a calf peg off when I first got him but that was my fault, not the build quality. You just cant treat him like an old-school Unicron trilogy figure haha.

I’m sorry to bump and old thread but I have a question. Anyone know a way to put the hip assembly back together without it messing up the ratchet? I went to take him off the shelf and when I did the whole hip assembly on the left leg came apart. I’m not sure what could have caused it or anything, it really surprised me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't own one but from the pic it looks like the pin is sheared so it's not going all the way through to the other side to hold the joint together.

It's sad because all of PX's other offerings seem to be quite sturdy but over the last year or so this model seems to be giving everybody problems. Only a couple pages back you can see folks showing degradation of the hips and other issues. I wonder if it was just a bad-quality plastisizer that was used?

 

Yeah, that's a sheared pin which is ironic given how crap the plastic is on this figure. I'd have fully expected the ball joint and ratchet to disintegrate before the metal hip pins.

The good new is that it's not impossible to salvage, but not easy either. I've had some luck finding replacement pins in junker TF bins. For whatever reason, I find that the more robust pins are in old Unicron trilogy figures, although I've popped out enough Combiner Wars pins installing upgrades to appreciate that the Voyager class combiner figures also have some nice pins to salvage. If you can't find any there, your local hardware store might have some wire that might match the gauge necessary to clip and replace the pin. It won't be perfect but the thing will stay on.

 

Same exact thing happened to me the first day I got this guy out of the box. I contacted the retailer, who said they'd replace it when it came back in stock (BBTS). Then I forgot about it.

I suppose you could try to super glue just the pin, but that is risky. I'd try and contact the retailer first.

 

Thank you to everyone who responded, I contacted my retailer and they are trying to get a replacement piece, but they said it will probably be a long time until they get it. So for now I’ll just be patient and see what they can do.

 

Be warned, I was never able to get replacement parts from these guys. My retailer tried for over a year before giving up and sending me a whole new Pluto after they restocked. Planet X Is not a very cooperative company. All I needed was spikes for his back, too.

 

Bringing an old thread back to life. I have the BBTS Restock being delivered tomorrow. Fingers crossed there are integrity improvements and not just warehouse finds. I’m such an advocate for Planet X quality and it’s a shame this is getting such bad reviews for quality
