That is Golden Starscream. They're not planning Golden Skywarp and Thundercracker...which makes sense, cause they're the same mold.

 

And more to the point with NA, they arent the type of company to dry out fast. These figures tend to still be available months later, as they do seem to continually make batches for a while. So, unlike say, Fans Toys, you can afford to wait and purchase in increments without worry you'll miss out. I think in this case, one can comfortably take a breather in between purchases.

 

It’s probably more of a matter of scheduling factory production time amongst a busy release schedule. It’s easier to get a big batch of one mold out in one go rather than sprinkle it intermittently in between other releases.

Remember, these are small companies and small factories that they are partnering with to produce these. They don’t own them like large brand name toy makers.

 

Yeah, actually, one of the big factors drawing me toward NA is the fact that I'm likely to assemble a reasonably complete G1 cast before I'm ready for the retirement home. Keep 'em coming rapid fire.

 

Yeah, cause its not just their seekers, they got their Megs out first as well. And even if Magic Squares' versions end up being better, having their stuff out first does give NA an advantage. And I keep forgetting NA also released Insecticons!

Oh, and I keep forgetting to ask this on here, but is NA affiliated with one of the other 3P companies? I seem to remember seeing a post where someone was complaining about some 3p company basically shoving off their bigger sized figures to the side because they were making more off their NA legends releases? I've been unsuccessful trying to find the right search terms to determine that.

NA also beat MS to the punch with Cosmos, which IMO had the slightly better figure. But most people already had the perfectly solid NA Cosmos.

 

Yes, there's several hints pointing to the designers from the War in Pocket line from DX9 becoming NewAge.

 

What did you like about it over the NA version?

 

I preferred the MS version's transformation, which is inspired by the original toy's transformation. The MS version has articulation that is a bit better (MUCH better shoulder movement, no chunks on the hips getting in the way, and amazingly wrist swivel on those teeeeny hands). Lastly, while 90% of the time NA has the better vehicle mode, I felt NA's UFO mode looked like a melting birthday cake (a sacrifice to get the more rounded-torso Cosmos had on the show). MS' UFO mode looks much better (despite the colors being off) to me, especially when compared with the Adamski sighting on which the original figure was based.

 

The 3 pack pre-order seekers from Baba came today. The Megatron legs were packed in skywarp's box (it is not a gift set or anything). The individual thundercracker coming from showz is still enroute. Since I bought all three from them as well, I should have an extra pair.

 

I feel the same. Got the assembly team in place and they know the ins and outs of assembling Seekers and Megatrons. Full steam ahead with minimal retraining.

 

I wanted them to do air warrior colors. I love army builders.

They're pretty close to hotlink but still I always liked the set I got from the OTFCC, so I'd love a just grunt three pack.

 

Was your Skywarp un-taped on one side? Mine was so not sure if it was to pack the Megs parts in or just breaking in transit.

I got all 3 from Baba and just haven't had time to pop them open or even transform the 3 coneheads prior to that. Hopefully today I can get to them.

 

Mine was the same. I'm pretty sure that it was to add the parts to the box. I received MP Hound at the same time and it was open as well so that they could add the pin.

 

Yep, the tape was broken on one side so they could slide in the new legs.

Can anyone help with rough measurements of these two distances? I'm making some flamethrowers and want to get the size right.
