Some great info / reasoning here. Agree that most issues on this figure are manufacturing, not design but with 1 exception (not to take away from what you have said) - the tailgate pieces are held on by tiny joints considering that 1 of these has to basically hold the back end of the jeep together, and you have to push very snug fitting accessories onto both. My copy is holding up fine, but i fear for these joints.
So TT went at this half baked, so you thought to bake the rest yourself??

Really sorry you are having such a sh###y time with this figure, but for what its worth I think you are quite correct - I doubt they would have the time / info to look over everything thoroughly and carefully enough (and may cause issues), and it might make it more difficult if a further return is needed.

On a completely separate matter (and i almost feel guilty posting a comment praising this figure), but i think the addition of a forearm swivel at the elbow makes a massive change to the arm posing and articulation - wish this was used far more often as it makes it much more natural. I prefer this extra to an ab crunch.

I might well agree with you on that specific hinge. I'm still waiting on my copy to be sure, but from what angles I can see in pics, it does look like they might have been able to double the width of material on the tailgate pieces cos it looks like quite a long pin and long cylindrical feature on the counterpart. Will need to get my copy to see exactly why that hinge had to be so tiny on the tailgate parts. But still, there's hinges that minimal all over MP-45 and he holds together fine, and I still think that tailgate would hold up if the plastic wasn't toffee.

Lol! :)  Maybe it's worth a sacrifice for science? Some time later... Hubbeeeeeee, why tf is there a small green jeep in the oven?!...

Same here and at this point I'm considering trying to cancel. They probably won't allow it, but between the QC issues and the fact they're just sitting on the order, I'm not really thrilled about this purchase in the slightest.

Your signature is the best thing I've seen on TFW as far as signatures are concerned. Amazing!

Do you mind if I steal it?

I asked Nippon Yasan for a refund stating numerous reports of the figure being faulty and returned. Wasn't expecting a refund but they changed my order status to refund processing.

Could they? Sure. Will they? Highly doubtful. It's not a single point of failure to easily offer a replacement part.

Transform him for the 7th times. Still no crack found but now my hound has mini scratch but still feel like winning a lotto. Will never transform him again.

Well with today's news that he's down to about $95 shipped on Amazon.jp I jumped in. Hopefully I can avoid the issues you guys have had.

Finally got mine about three days ago. Inspected everywhere in vehicle mode for cracks. Looks fine, though at first glance there are numerous seams that scared me. I am embarrassed to admit that I’m scared to even transform this dude. It’s a total bummer, because I’ve been looking forward to him for a long damn time. My MP Megatron was kinda shitty though and one of his hip skirts broke, so I’m super paranoid now.

Thanks, man! Yeah hopefully your plastic is solid and will hold up! I gotta change mine a few more times before that return window is closed to make sure he’ll last. Thankfully all the hinges on mine move smoothly. Only tight spots are the ankles and shoulders (though I don’t recall anyone having breaks in either of those places).

Isn't Amazon supposed to price match to their lowest price? Can we contact them and ask for a refund/credit for the difference of this new discounted price?

That only works for pre-orders. Once the item has released they rarely match their own prices. But that's Amazon.com. I suppose it doesn't hurt to try Amazon.jp.

My Hound and Bumblebee just arrived from HLJ and hound is amazing. I was really nervous while transforming him, and even took video while unboxing him to check for any breaks or cracks. Mine showed up in perfect shape, with no hairlines or stress marks that I can see. When transforming him, I took very special care to keep my fingers as close to the hinges as possible to minimize the chance of breakage on the thin plastic parts. Those doors are really thin and I can see how the parts are breaking. Slow and steady was my rule and if something didn't feel like it wanted to move, I'd consult a video. The transformation was really cool and probably my favorite one yet.

I'm really sorry to hear about some members bad luck with this figure and I hope everyone gets the chance to enjoy it. My box number was K0519 if we're keeping a log of this stuff. Good luck everyone!

I must say despite my lukewarm appreciation of the figure your signature is hilarious and comedy gold!
