Emgo has done video's for all 4 Stunticon cars from XTBs. So he should be putting one out for Gravestone pretty soon, I would imagine.

Just looking my Gravestone over while he's still in alt mode. I gotta tighten the right front tire and it also appears that one of the transparent purple shin pieces has a broken clip and doesn't want to stay secured. There haven't been many, but what over QC issues should I look out for? These are the ones that I recall reading so far,

    • Missing pins in the fingers
    • Eye piece missing from the default face
    • Loose smokestacks

17TRACK says my Gravestone is delayed by severe weather and just stopped a couple towns over. Baba seems to get things to me much quicker than any other Chinese retailer though so I like that.

I give you Gravestone... and friends:

I'll post some better pics with backgrounds and better lighting later. But just wanted to put these up as a comparison. After getting him in hand he is a nice bot. Compared to FT RoadKing and DX9 Capone, he is in the middle of the pack, if we are comparing best MM bot. If we are comparing based on the contents of the entire box, DX9 Capone jumps ahead as to the value of the entire figure + combiner frame/trailer.

Gravestone has better details, sharper fine points, and the colors on GS really pop. Way better than Capone in these areas. My copy of Gravestone is flawless. No issues, no popping off fingers. Also GS has the heft and chunk factor over Capone, who is in a lighter weight-class. GS is almost as heavy as RK due to the die-cast metal chest and thighs. The alt truck mode on GS is really nice. Toss up between FT RK as too whom is the true alt mode king. Both are really good.

Gravestone's transformation was pretty straightforward. No issues with flipping the head thru the middle of the torso. I was slow and careful. Used a combo of 598's and Cheem's YT tutorials. The face sculpt on GS is really nice too. Arguably right there with RK and both are better than Capone (less derpy). GS's white color arms look odd in pics... but in-hand up-close the arms are actually a light off-white with a hint of gray-pearl metallic. Gotta have some metal-flake paint somewhere right? I do also like the use of die-cast metal in the chest and thighs as it gives the feel of an old-school bot from 1984. The weapon storage pegs on the back are a nice touch. Articulation is good... and he can hold lots of poses... but those shoulder joints... right from TT MP-22... why XTB... WHY!!!! The shoulder joints on Gravestone look weird and do hamper and interfere with shoulder rotation and movement. Bad choice here. Also... DAT BACKPACK? What you got in that box GS?!? It is big... and since he is only a cab, it begs the question wasn't there a better more elegant choice as to transformation and doing something more with the cab... instead of tossing it on his back?

Overall Grade: B. Nice... but Fannnnnssss Tooooyyyyys RoadKing is still the King of the road. YMMV.

Tried a little bit of a pose-off between Gravestone and Roadking tonight. I like Roadking's proportions and styling better, but damn those friggin' ankles are a bitch to work with. Reminded me why I barely touched Roadking after the initial transformation and posing after I got it. Gravestone by comparison is much easier to get into various poses thanks to those great ankle joints. Roadking would be near perfect if it had Gravestone's ankle hardware, but that was probably not possible with its transformation design.

I tried to get both Motormasters into the same poses in these pictures.

Note the angle of the back leg of Gravestone. Roadking can't really get to that angle because the ankle can't accommodate it.

Roadking's lower body can't really replicate Gravestone's pose here. Also, he can't look up as much when the head is turned.

Here Gravestone's legs are in a subtle front and back position with both feet on the ground. I couldn't get Roadking to do this.

Running pose. Roadking had to be carefully balanced for this since his back foot can't be flat against the ground.

Another pose where Roadking needed careful balancing

So, I think Gravestone wins my little pose-off here.

Anyway, I do like both of these Motormaster representations. Roadking looks better to me and I prefer the entire truck and trailer transformation concept. Gravestone is more fun to handle and pose, and I think it looks good on its own as well. I'm glad to have both.

Btw those swirly looking parts on his waist blue grey hinge piece is essentially the light hitting the variations in the surface texture. Its smoother in some areas and a little rougher in others, that kinda plastic.

They both look great and Roadking definitely looks like a monster in some poses where you see his upper body mass all around the head part.
And then in lots of more dynamic poses, Gravestone looks more natural.

RK has that big, hulking, juggernaut factor to his presence the others lack. He just looks more menacing and imposing standing on a shelf.

Not even to mention he has the most amazing transformation. Well played FT... well played indeed. [IMG]

In a good pose, I think RK can look super imposing, but in most neutral type poses I find he looks really lifeless and sort of dead. Hard to explain. To me, Gravestone hits most of the right pros to cons looks wise. I like his playability a ton too, however the quality of the plastic and overall sort of fit and finish is definitely going to be inferior to FT (even though I don't own RK, basing it off other FT figs I own).

That’s why I favor Gravestone over the other two. The others are nice, too, but I dig Gravestone’s aesthetic more.

While I like the XTB set more overall, I couldn’t resist Roadking. After convincing my wife to get it for me for my bday, I put in the order for his rerelease. Gravestone will be in my main display with the XTB Stunticons, while RK will be a nice stand alone piece. The full truck and trailer transformation won me over for sure.

It’s fantastic that we have so many options for the Stunticons. When I get both “MP” MM’s in hand, I’ll be doing a photo shoot of all the MMs in my collection.

When comparing GS to RK, it's obvious to me that XTB botched his head. The rectangular helmet above GS's face is too long and squat to actually reveal a realistic head underneath, while RK looks like he is actually wearing a helmet over a realistic proportioned head. It's like GS is missing 1/4 off the top of his head. What a FAIL!

    HI, my name is Gravestone!

    homo erectus.jpeg

I am sticking with Gravestone though .........the over sized car bots is a deal breaker for me.

Hahaha your entitled to your opinion and all but I'm sorry, that just sounds so stupid to me. He's a robot. His entire head, even his box is his head.
    :lol
How does that neanderthal head look anything like this:

It's not obvious until you compare the two, how much better RK's head looks. Just look at GS's squat head....the pics speak for themselves. If RK wasn't around, I honestly would have no problem with it. Don't shoot the messenger!

    2020-01-16_22-20-19.jpg

I love RK's stoic face too......it's like the ultimate face. I love it so much!
