If you think about it, three of the Avengers are more or less “clones” now. Cap, Widow, and now Iron Man.

Yeah, it's a very carefully worked scene that ends up killing a Reed who can turn his body into interdimensional portals. It's made very very clear in that issue that the Gauntlet is near useless outside it's universe and it takes a lot of work to get any use of it outside the universe.

That is hinted as to be why using the gauntlet to stop an incursion destroys the infinity gems. It's an overlapped universe at that point, meaning the Gauntlet is outside it's normal range of operation.
Not a big surprise. There's been a trend to try to explain why the characters aren't aging by introducing things like this. This is a far better solution than Dum Dum Duggan turning out to have been an LMD for years and years. And honestly, there's a couple of times throughout his history that if you were to reveal Iron Man was cloned at that point, I'd believe it.

    Strange Academy's symbol.

It looks a bit Hogwarts-styled. The upside-down Cloak of Levitation looks like a Decepticon.

The motto, "Electi Carent Electione", is Latin for "The chosen have no choice." I hope that motto is explained in the story.

@matrixprime Almost all the Absolute Carnage are out at this point, seems the only one missing is the Venom companion.

    I read Venom: The End
Good book. I love "The End" comics. I reccomend Hulk: The End, Punisher: The End, and Marvel: The End.
I am excited to see the other books come out.
And I read Miles Morales: The End... it's fine.

Wait, there’s a Miles Morales: The End? That’s way too soon for that.

    Iron Man 2020 #1
Don't know how I feel about Arno, which has been a problem since issue 5, but I am here for the Robot Revolution. Months ago I thought Slott's series was playing with "I Am Iron Man" and this issue they finally said it. It's kinda sick but also an interesting exploration of the character. I'm here for it.

"I'm an Echo of Tony Stark. The Idea of him. But I'm also his greatest idea, the one he came up with in a cave. I am Iron Man
So I'm picking up Machine Man 2020 now, since that should be more of the stuff I like. Found him annoying at first but turned around recent issues. And looking at the checklist, wondering what iWolverine is, that's come out of nowhere right?

Yep, and the character only existed for 8 years when it was first announced.
I have no idea why they made it, and I may like Miles and Gwen, but Marvel has way too many "Spider-People" right now. To the point it devalues Spider-Man's existence. Marvel has always tried to push characters though. They been pushing Captain Marvel since 2012, and more infamously the Inhumans in 2016 and 2017, when someone asked themselves: "We could make Black Bolt more popular than Wolverine."

Upcoming "The End" comics they all release this month in this order:
    • Doctor Strange
    • Captain Marvel
    • Captain America
    • Deadpool

Marvel is always trying to push spin off characters though. Back in the 90's we had Thunderstrike (Erik Masterson Thor), War Machine, and USAgent. Oh, and Scarlet Spider. Some of those stuck to one level or another, others got marginalized.

Occasionally they do hit lightning in a bottle though with new characters. That's why they keep trying. Wolverine was a brand new character to the universe at one point. Deadpool came out of the 90's. The problem is the legacy characters never take because Marvel isn't ever going to actually embrace a new silver age. We know Steve, Tony, and Thor are coming back, so those legacy characters never stick.

Captain Marvel and the Inhumans are a different thing. Inhumans works best as a royal drama in an isolationist culture. Pushing them out in the wider Marvel universe is tough but not impossible. Earth X and War of Kings both involve the Inhumans stepping out into the wider world and work really well. But they will never be a standard super team book.

Captain Marvel's biggest problem is baggage. She's been treated very badly by writers through the years. Very badly.

Yeah. It's always there somewhere in the background. I thought Carol was pretty great in Hickman's run, but I am a pretty big Hickman fan and his use of characters is a lot like character usage in Infinity War and Endgame. Namely big moments and ensemble pieces and less deep dives. But in Busiek's run I felt like Carol just doesn't come across all that great. She's much more in focus in his run and it seems like once she's in focus she kinda falls apart.

It might be that Carol is a lot like Dr. Strange, in that they are useful pieces of an ensemble, less interesting as their own separate lead character.

On the Marvel Sword and Sorcery side, I've been enjoying the "Serpent War" mini. The nice surprise was the True Believer edition of "Valley of The Worm" and having the characters from that story be a important factor too. I also added the "Dark Agnes" mini to my pull list. It's not my usual setting of choice and haven't read her original stories yet, but I enjoyed what I read of her in the crossover so far.
I am skipping out of the upcoming "Serpent Crown" series. Conan in the modern Marvel universe isn't something I'm very interested in aside from the classic "What If" issues, so I'll probably do what I did for "No Road Home" and "Savage Avengers" and picked this up as a discounted trade on a Comixology sale further along.
I'm also very anxiously awaiting the final issue of Jason Aaron's run on the main "Conan the Barbarian" book, so far set for the end of this month.

Just like iron man killed the female yellowjacket and crystals baby's nanny in the avengers kitchen then eats in that same kitchen all the time. "Hey remember when I killed yellowjacket here? Great times!"

Personally I feel only the die hards really know/remember the things done to Carol, or the ones who read the clickbait articles that have popped up recently.

You can also add in - mortally wound teenage self from an alternate universe, as well as act practically like a super villain during Civil War to that list and that's just the top of his worse offenses.

RDJ and the MCU really did wonders for IM because they swept a ton of bad stuff under the rug, but poor guy like Henry Pym can't outrun the one panel where the "Marvel Way of Drawing" had him slapping Janet away instead of shoving her aside.

Busiek's run is exactly why I hate Carol. That was my first real exposure to the character and she was just fucking awful.
