I've been using them as individual guns, some of them work much better that way.

 

I suppose that's true, although I don't recall there really being all that much that screamed "not from Earth!" about that mold's alt mode. I'll be happy enough to get real numbers.

 

I am actually happy and hoping for a g1 smokesceen release in Earthrise as that would give me what I have been really wanting. All three Datsun guys with their own unique mold !

I plan on keeping my Classics Prowl as my collections Prowl , then use Seige Bluestreak with toyhax reprolabels and then Earthrise Smokescreen.

This way they all still resemble each other closely but are all completely different toys too

 

Hasbro's intent I think is the important factor here. They not only stated their intent on making Siege almost exclusively Cybertronian modes, they specifically said that any characters whose Cybertronian alt modes weren't shown in the prologue to the first episode they were free to make however they wanted independent of the Sunbow alt modes. In addition, they said that they also wanted to stick with alt modes that were still recognizable to children as "car", "truck", "plane", etc.

Add to the fact that Generations is now a "retelling" of "the Transformers story" as of the beginning of Siege and WFC Selects. Since Cybertronian text was written on Smokescreen's alt mode, and add the fact that Hasbro is also leaning heavily toward Sunbow accuracy now, Hasbro's intention was most likely that it's a Cybertronian alt mode. IMO, a great deal of certainty could be applied to this. What we got wasn't a Datsun, therefore, by deductive reasoning, we can conclude that it's Cybertronian, and what we'll get next will most likely be a Datsun.

And about non-G1 Smokescreens, I wouldn't worry. I don't think those will be hidden away from us forever. =D

 

Ahhh, see, I thought I was already clear that I was just talking about what *I* wanted. Hasbro intent on this particular item isn't really a concern to me at all.

Ditto. Not my favorite Armada character, not even my sixth favorite, but I'd applaud it.

 

Hell, I'd probably take that before Grapple, just to have another UT homage (though I'd still be down for a blue redeco, a la the '03 Universe release).

 

I'm still buying Grapple, and I hope we'll get Inferno too. I was ready to replace the G1 Universe molds as soon as I had them in hand.
But it would be great to see more UT characters. Maybe we will get Cybertron Defense Red Alert from Doubledealer.

 

Many of us are hoping for that. Hasbro claims to watch the boards. Surely they’ve seen the desire for CD Red Alert and Scattorshot...

 

Has Ironworks already been promoted as an Autobot? Because what they should have done is release one baseformer per wave and have them all be mercenary faction.

 

He's got an Autobot faction symbol, but I will probably treat them as non-denominational in base mode (that is, the bases will be all connected and a playset for the MMs)

 

I mean. There's likely a chance that the Micromaster Base Modulators could be lightly retooled into new characters based on the Brave Redecos they had that would serve as Mercenaries. How else would they use them for mini bases for potential Mini-Spy Micromasters? Like the Mini-Spies have Mercenary Faction written all over them.
