Yeah, I’m going to include some final thoughts and some comparisons to FT Willy. In addition, I’ve included a fun little sequence of events, inspired by you.

Thanks bud!!! First time I've ever felt sorta happy with a shot I've taken of a seeker :lol  I do feel the Coneheads are kinda like + versions of the MP-11 mold in all but name (hence why I'm cool with keeping them in my now full-on anime collection :thumb  ).

Gave you credit for Spike in the cage. As I was thinking about it, Spike and Hound had an adventure during “Day of the Machinces.” There may not be hard feelings between them.

Oh man I was wondering if that was the shot you were teasing, somehow I missed the text right above it! I was still gonna tell you how much I loved it! It works on two levels: it could be Hound making a perfectly innocent hologram of Spike for legitimate reasons, or it could be....YOU KNOW.... :lol

I just added it so you didn’t miss a thing. The Hound Jeep was a hologram, and the cage was real.

Oh I forgot about the first picture of him climbing in....it all makes horrifying sense now!!!!!!! :lol  In addition to the great concept, the posing is really good, Spike's climbing pose looks completely natural. I hereby declare you the holder of full creative control over Evil Hound!!!

One thing that I absolutely love about the Magni molds; storage space for all the swappable faces! I do really wish it was articulated more, of the MP's released around the same time, all had more articulation than the Magni molds.

It's been said that Hasui did the initial design but I think most of his design actually remained intact when it comes to robot mode. His MP designs usually had some form of hindered articulation and it definitely shows on MP Ultra Magnus. On the plus side, his designs had pretty intuitive transformations and that also remained on Ultra Magnus. Possibly aided by extra "oomph" by Kobayashi as Kobayashi designs usually have that "MP moment" during transformation.

I'm trying to get my son into Transformers and Voltron but he won't ever sit still long enough to watch an episode...
Also if you haven't already I suggest picking up the GoLion version. It doesn't have the sweet soundtrack the American one does but it is how it was meant to be seen.

I got my kid Thrust for his birthday and he is surprisingly still in one piece, which is more than I can say for some of my other figures.

Side note: I came across this in the Official MP Guide not too long ago. I suppose Takara meant to give us a MP Huffer at one point but decided not to. Interesting to think which other characters got passed over throughout the years.

Where might I find the GoLion version? My son is 8 so it's a little easier to get him in to these shows than it was 3 or so years ago when I first tried. He just has an aversion to GI Joe for some reason.

Yeah, MP-10's designer said there wasn't enough $$$ in the budget to make that proposed Huffer. He said the scene in s1 where Huffer helps a wounded Prime (was it Heavy Metal War?) and pulls his trailer for him really stood out to him. Hasui said he felt like trying to include him with MP-10 might've been Huffer's only shot at getting an MP. Of course, that was before MP-12, before carbots became a thing. I think Huffer's chances are better than ever now and if he's made he'll look like the animation, too.

@chchchch yes bro, if a new Starscream is announced I'll likely sell him, TC and SW right away but hang on to the coneheads (until new coneheads are announced, that is!).

Thanks man, you guys are too kind! I'm keeping an eye out for pre-printed paper or cardboard that looks like these backgrounds since it would make it sooooo much easier...I've thought about making them for others, but it would be pretty difficult to make for a shelf I can't physically see/touch and it's so tedious, I'm worried I'd give up and never finish the first one :lol

Heads up, pulled Spike out of my MP-10 trailer drone last night and the flesh paint on his arms have become sticky. Now I know of the oft-quoted standardized refrain of "user error" and the automatic assumption that I must be taking this figure to the bathtub with me for underwater snorkeling adventures against Decepticons or throwing him 50ft in the air to see if he can fly but truth is, it was mainly in the drone or trailer and in an air conditioned room not being posed much.

So yea, maybe the plasticizer is leeching over time. Damn humans!
