That's too bad that you can't afford MP figures. Whereabouts do you live? Hopefully your financial situation will one day allow you to enjoy some of these figures :)

He's not saying he can't afford it, he's saying he doesn't have the luxury of being able to return the figure. If you live outside Japan it's much more difficult to do so.

Well, if you order through Amazon JP, they pay for the return shipping though. Perhaps Amazon doesn't ship to their country then?

Even then, most other online retailers will accept returns if the product is obviously faulty.

Is it possible to get a full refund instead of an exchange from Amazon JP? Just curious.

Agreed...but I said it's harder not impossible. I'm not sure if AJP ship to all countries but as a UK dweller they do, but the import fee's and subsequent customs charges I'll likely be charged render any discount I might get null and void. Therefore I go with Japanese retailers like Anime Export, who although I've had good experiences with regarding returning stuff (although they do expect you to pay return postage out of your own pocket) I've heard many accounts of poor experiences. The same goes for domestic retailers like Kapow Toys, who swallow part of the import costs but charge more than Japanese retailer, they have a vague and changeable policy on returns that leaves us on shakey ground when seeking a refund or replacement. Some retailers will only accept returns on damages done during transit or as found in box. Indeed rewind a few pages and you'll find account by those that have been told they cannot return Hound if broken whilst manipulating the figure, despite it being widely agreed that the materials and tolerances of are most likely at fault. If you buy in Japan and live in Japan I assume (sorry I'm not an expert on Japanese consumer law maybe you can enlighten us?) you are covered by consumer protection that allow you return goods with little to no justification.

So in short yes you can return this stuff to your retailer, but its much easier within Japan and not possible for everyone outside of TT's domestic market. I personally could go through AJP to protect my purchase, given my lack of confidence it the product these days, but it will cost me more on a product I already feel is overpriced and rely on retailer discount to bring the price down... so instead I'm electing not to buy it in the first instance and see how it pans out from now on. (Plus it would contravene my boycott on Amazon).

Im in australia and amazon japan don't deliver here either haha, otherwise i would definitely purchase through them. Outside of that you have the Japanese retailers (hlj, amiami ect) but they work out considerably more expensive. I like the fact amazon will take back the product for a refund or exchange, no questions asked. Other retailers seem more inclined to send you spare parts.

Do you mean a full refund instead of an exchange?
Either way, you'll need to return it to them.

I'm in the process of returning mine for a refund, but haven't been able to get to the post office yet. I'll let everyone know how the return process goes, but from what I'm hearing they will refund you the shipping cost after they receive it. I'm going with USPS Global Priority in the smallest box possible in order to keep costs down.

Nope. Not can't afford haha. But the only way to get is from local seller. And the bad news is, the seller can't help anything if something happen to official MP figures.

I really need to open my Hound and do an inspection I guess. Amazon shipped it to me and I didn't bother to open up the box yet, mostly because I'm still working on my display room. I plan to keep everything in the box until I'm ready to display the collection.

Gotcha. I'm afraid I'm not too knowledgeable on buyer protection in Japan either.

Ah yeah, I think they stopped sending to Australia after the new import tax was introduced last year right. How very annoying.

    Ah I see. That sucks!

No cracks in all the wrong places. Box # K1219. Praying it holds forever. Btw, as it was already mentioned, the darn spare tire is to big for Hound's shins. I didn't put it in anymore. So unless you have some modding skillz, avoid sticking it into the shins. 20200116_213325.jpg

Decided not to get Hound. Not worth the risk at that price. Gonna wait and hope they re-release him with QC up to scratch.

But all these issues with him has got me worried about MP Lio Convoy. He's my most anticipated MP since Cheetor and it would just suck if his QC is as bad as Hound's.

I would consider waiting for reviews before buying an expensive figure from TT or masterpiece line from now on.

I would. If you got a 'cracker' or 'crumbler,' you'll be able to return it if still in the 30 day window.

I don’t know about you but being their beta tester and having to deal with the hassles of return ain’t fun. Speaking strictly for myself, having to box things up, dealing with shipping, and probably taking a loss financially is not what i have in mind when i purchase a figure. And how do you quantify the amount of disappointment and anger that is included as well?

Glad your copy's ok! Mine holds the spare tire, jerry can, spare tire, cannon, and hand gun in his boots and feet just fine tbh.

Turned him back to jeep mode again this morning and still no cracks.
