Yes, I'm definitely waiting for some vol. 2 that is actually painted and I promise to forget about any other issues I have with this dude :)

...or a KO if the official company won't let me support them. Those dudes from Legendary Toys who used to make superior repaints... are they still alive?

It has to look clean to match Challenger, Perukill, LA Hire and the takara mps. I don't understand why people expected weathering effects on this guy.

Maybe cuz some companies do it (even hasbro on stuff like SS Grimlock and Shockwave)

Still not a dealbreaker imo. I still think it's an amazing figure.

I for one expect good figures, don't care about the rest. They already look weird together because of size difference.

It isn't. But he's disappointing because he looks like a 80$ BMB figure, especially with those eyes looking like turned off LEDs. Which is frustrating, he's clearly the best TLK Meg on the market, I've been waiting for him so long and I wish I liked him but I don't :D

    Got mine last night.
A bit disappointed by the lack of paint job and the head sculp is so so...those puppy dog eyes...(remember what Drift said?)
The blade is light and bendable, shouldn’t be a problem for lifting as the joints are pretty neat.
The shield is a bit cheap though, all hollow at the back with no paint job.
The cannon is the best, well it’s Megatron’s signature afterall. The chain is chrome metal.
Despite of the flaws, the overall is still above satisfactory.
The base (Driller) has no paint job.
It’s armed with 18 teeth (6 long and 12 short) on the rim.
Looking to purchase more in order to build the Driller.
Took some photos and tried to compare it with Weijiang oversized TLK voyager Megs, also featuring Tomica Sqweeks and Transcraft Mohawk.

    And why not?
Popping out here and there to hear personal opinions how he turns out in hand because he's soon to be shipped, also there's been a rumor a few pages back that UT was going to address some of the issues about the lack of paint and details. Also those custom works got my attention

I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I suspect people expected/ hoped for weathering because it is movie accurate? None of the other figures you mentioned in the movies have weathering effects (perhaps some battle damaged in bot mode) to the same extent as Megatron did. Most were very clean looking. Megatron would have looked significantly different had he been all "pristine" like his figure representation is. I personally don't mind it, but it's no eye opener that people would prefer some additional details.

Toyworld has that box ticked for people if it ever gets made. It's interesting people didn't have the same criticism of UT Challenger. Optimus is clearly weathered looking in the movie.

Again, not as much as Megatron was. His whole body is Rusty and weathered. Optimus is much cleaner until he starts fighting.

Plenty of people expressed their dismay for the lack of detail (among other things) in Challenger.

If you think differently that's fine, the point is, the figure is missing detail that is very prominent in the movie and some people are bummed about that. To each their own.

Wth? Where did you buy it from? I bought in from ShowZ and I'll probably get it in 2 months (my country's shipping is terrible)

I like what you had to say. Thanks for the mini review

I got mine from a local toy store in Hong Kong, same place i got my Challenger. Preordered a year ago. Worth the wait. I usually paint my figures so the lack of paint job is bearable. But UT really need to step up their game in the detail department, especially the head sculp. You cannot just release a new head to come along with the next product everytime.

    agree
Who knows if they'll release a new megatron head tho. As far as I know nothing's been said about that.
Also at least galvatron's face looks more accurate than dragoon's

Indeed. I think they won’t make a new head this time but focus on Galvatron. Another year to wait till its release! Glad that we will have DOTM Megs from Exquisite Toys to be released this year.
