Yeah. I really need a Hachiman and Mandora too. That’s some 80’s shit right there.

Yeah the Lunataks was that weird family, but honestly the only villians that inho mattered were the 3 main mutants + vulture and Mumm Ra. I count all the Thundercats and Snowmeow lol

I always liked Safari Joe and Captain Shiner. Shiner was the last vintage toy I ever bought. Picked it up in 2005 at an antique toy shop for like $15, mint on mint sealed card. Took that guy home and promptly busted the figure out of the package.

Yeah, see Mandora is one of those characters that I'm going to have to try really hard to not buy if they make a figure of her. :lol  For some reason I always thought she was being set up to be Lion-O's girlfriend as a kid. :lol

Oh man, you guys are really into Thundercats and hardcore about the series! Lunatanks (name reminds me of an Ultraman character)?! Safari Joe?!

I do agree that the world building is slightly more intriguing (for me) than MOTU.

Besides the core characters that I made reference to...yeah, I hope we at least see Bengali and...Berbils! :)

You know, when it comes to actual cats, I don't even like them.

I respect the MOTU franchise--He-Man and Skeletor were my first American toys after I moved to the country. But my main gripe with the character designs from that line is that it's essentially a line of remolds/repaints. A lot of 80s toys did that, but MOTU exploited the hell out of that concept.

That's why Thundercats feels so refreshing in comparison, in that you get really unique designs (and bodies) with each character, as was evident with the vintage LJN toys. However, I expect S7 to be very much about the bottom-line when it comes to the sculpting. Feel free to surprise me, S7. :)

I loved Thundercats and my hope would be that Super7 would also produce figures for Silverhawks and Tigersharks. But my bare minimum I could live with would be the first two waves then Cheetara, Jaga, Wily Kit, Wily Kat, Slithe, Monkeian, Bengali, Lynx-O and Ratar-O.

Decided to cancel my preorders. I love Thundercats but I just don't seem to feel the same need to own them that I do for other lines. That plus the iffy sculpting on the S7 figures was enough for me to drop out. Still gonna' follow this thread and live vicariously through you guys when you get yours and upload pics, though.

Now if Mega Construx would do a series like their MOTU stuff, I'd be all over that! A MC Cat's Lair similar to their Castle Grayskull, and a MC Thundertank would be freakin' awesome!

    Who actually owns Thundercats? WB?

I'd be down for Mega Constux TCs.

If Super7 priced these at $25 each, I'd get them. I'm just not into TC enough to pay $45 a figure.

I'm perfectly happy with the OG Lion-O figure that came out a few years ago with the 2nd series.

Yes, Warner Brothers has owned Thundercats since at least the 90's when they aired the show on Cartoon Network. I'm up for getting Mumm-Ra and Grune, but passing on Tygra and Pumyra. I like Bandai's Tygra and Mattel's Pumyra well enough.

I wish some company would make nice figures of the remake series.

Thanks for posting, TR. Hard to tell, but it looks like Jackalman's calves are still reversed. If so, not the best start out of the gate, S7. I really don't want to have to go through the process of swapping them out again.

Brian has just post test-shoot preview on IG.

That disappointment, unfortunately both figures drag the aesthetic problems of Mattel's figures, Lion-O has the horrible hole where the abdonimal piece joins the torso, and jackalman continues with the inverted calves.

The central pieces, the abdomen, the hip, including the belt and the briefs seem to be shorter than in the prototypes, this affected the height and proportions of the figure. Besides the separation between the torso and the abdomen is exaggerated and it's not aesthetic, it's horrible, something really happened there, a part of plastic is missing, I don't remember any Classics figure so badly solved in that area, I looked at many and none has that triangle space so ugly. I was glad that the prototype presented by Super7 looked much better than that.

I attached some comparative images, obviously they are photos at similar angles, not identical, but you can understand I want to explain.

Super7 needs to get the logo right on Lion-O’s belt. That’s not the actual logo. It looks like someone tried freehand paint it on there.

Interesting. He said he has painted prototypes... So we might get a better look shortly.
