I don't have Roadking, so I can't comment on that, but I found the transformation to be really easy (once I 'learned this one simple trick' about the collar bone... and not from a 'mom' either  ). I watched a vid for truck to bot once, and then after that transformed him a couple of times without any help whatsoever!  

I'm definitely sticking with my individual bots, the siren call of the big purple slippers is too weak to tempt me

Nice, I hadn't noticed the waist could split apart until you posted that, it has to be for combined mode.

It looks like you've got the legs right comparing to the prototype pic, but like you say where are the fuel tanks meant to go? They seem to just disappear in this pic:

I still have a feeling the cab might need more than just folding down simply because the top can rotate 180 degrees, which would serve no purpose otherwise.


I would say something like this but it would mean the shoulders being in bot mode which looks like it would stick out too much for Menasor, so maybe not.


Still, I think I'm onto something with the roof...

 

If you or anyone else is having that issue it's because the front of the cab that forms the top of the torso is sitting too low. Push up on it from his back and the chest should stay tabbed in.

Fwiw, one of the smokestacks on mine is loose.

 

I've most likely missed it but is there any information on whether or not it's possible to spin Menasor's lower legs round to have Wildrider and Breakdown's car modes on show?

Out of curiosity, are the shoulders on Overheat Youth safe if you do the 'toon transformation?

This conversation took an unexpected turn.

 

Playing around with gravestone more and more and it flashed in my head this was the same company that brought us appolyon. A figure I was so scared of handling let alone transforming. Is x-transbots the most improved party out there? Gravestone was actually a joy to transform. It is one of those transformations where it just felt everything was moving in the right direction, nothing felt annoying and fiddly. Even the collar bit I worked out so quickly.
