Has Nippon yassan shipped any hounds yet? Feels like mine has been in preparation for a week or more.

Seems like a growing trend. Amiami also has fallen for the "in preparation" trap. Mine took 5 days before shipping.

Really dig the seating ability, the new Spike and holo figures, and all the console details.

Lol of course AmiAmi finally shipped out my replacement Hound... with SAL. Guess I'll find out in 2 or 3 more weeks whether to just give up. Waiting's going to suck.

They really should have said “materials fault” rather than “design fault”.

Thx for bringing us joy in this thread with those great pics, because a flawless figure remains amazing. For some reasons, it didn't turn that way for far too many people unfortunately. I haven't received mine yet but it seems to be the case of good luck only ...

Oh, cool, you've handled my personal figures? Wow.

And yes, my MP-44, 43, and an slew of other figures I've done minor mods/fixes to do, indeed, work better than new. Sorry if that's so hard for you to believe. But yes, I can.

Again man, different mindsets, different experiences, etc. I've handled and transformed my Hound at length, with no problems. So no, I'm not letting some fear of the unknown spoil my enjoyment.

I had this mindset when I first transformed mine. I thought "If it breaks, I'll send it back," so I had no fear. Sure, it would have sucked to pack them back up and drive to the post office to mail them back, but life as we know it would not have ended. I didn't actively try to break them, but I wasn't exactly delicate either. I haven't completely transformed mine many times, but I have visually inspected and actuated all of the problematic hinges a few times a day to check for deterioration. So far, all is well. My supposition is that, if it hasn't broken by now (with normal to 'rushed' handling), it ain't gonna. Well, at least in the next 5 to 10 years. If it does break around that time frame, those claiming this is a scandal can point and say "Hah hah!" and "I told you so!"

MP-10 isn't even 10 years old... oh no... what if I wake up one morning and he's a pile of dust? SCANDAL! TAKARA IS ENGINEERING IN PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE AND PHYSICAL DRM!

Thanks a lot, man! Wish everyone could be enjoying this figure. Really is a shame! Here's to you getting a good one, brother!

@Shunwei , I can personally attest that @Jarrod can and does make these figures better than new. He fixed and modded my MP-44 play copy (I damaged some spots) and not only do the greys and yellows look better than they did out of the box, but he gave them a protective coat that's held up with zero nicks or dings after endless posing and multiple transformations.

It's wild that you'd try to pick a bone with Jarrod as he's widely regarded as a board MVP - always courteous and always providing insight and expert help.

Dude, that's breaking and entering at a minimum. That needs at least a restraining order!

Not picking a bone, frankly i don't know him and i don't care about him or his figures. i am just saying that you can only do so much given what you have. if the materials are shit in so many people's hands, no one is an alchemist to be able to fix what was given. most people simply don't have the time or the energy to 'fix' TT's mistakes and cover up for them. people who keep on doing so simply encourages them to keep pumping out shit. i think up to a certain point even ardent supporters like you and Jarrod would be fed up.

The thing is, of the eight MPs I bought this past year (2xWheeljack+, Bluestreak+, 2xMP-44, 2xMP-45, and MP-47), one of them was a dud, a badly painted Bumblebee. That one Bumblebee is certainly aggravating as I do believe TT gouged 45's price. Plus, due to work and the holidays I missed the return window for AJ, but he's still good for messing around and alt mode and I'm ok with that as I also have a near perfect copy. So by far most of my MP purchases have been great, positive experiences and I certainly get my money's worth of enjoyment from them. I might feel differently if I also got a crumbling Hound and bum kneed Optimus, but so far so good. I know others have obviously had a different experience and qc problems are definitely real, which is why I'll keep ordering through AJ with the security of their return policy. I'd rather own these figures than not and as long as TT keeps making G1 cartoon accurate figures with licensed vehicles, tons of articulation, paint, accessories, gimmicks, and top level engineering, I can't see that changing. They're what I've wanted and dreamed of since 1984.

That's so funny because I started to notice that certain people have the exact same scratch at the same location. You have to wonder what was happening at these factories.

Still waiting for my Hound to arrive, hoping it transmogrifies into a good one en route. I've never had to return an MP and I'd hate to start.

Although, worst case scenario, I return him and wait for him to be reissued.

Is it too late to join the Loyal Order of Condorpersons? :D  Although, if I'm honest I much preferred the Piranha.
