I wonder if they'll do recolours of these guys. I got both sets of the OS Dinobots to pose in different modes - Skittles for the robot modes and G1 colours for dino mode. (I didn't bother with combiner mode).

 

Are these compatible with the Hasbro torso like the oversized Dinobots were or are the Combiner pegs oversized too?

The use of diecast was a bad idea in my opinion as it weighs down the gestalts forearms causing them to turn and drop in certain poses, plus I think previously mentioned, the combiner peg on Blot can't be straighten up as a leg due to the lack of clearance for the head no matter which way you try and spin it on its ball joint.
The gestalt hand and foot is way too loose when inserted in to Rippersnapper's wrist. I even tried all of the ones which came with OSKO PotP Dinobots but they where all too loose as well. That hole will need to be thickened up somewhat to prevent this happening. Not sure if this is on all RS's or just mine?
Poor old Hasbro Hun-Gurr. He looks pretty swish as the torso but his hips are loose and can't hold a pose that well outside of the ones I photographed possibly due to the extra weight of the larger limbs with added diecast and/or the hip gear ratchets not working too well.
I wonder if the ratchets could be replaced with the Nonnef Superion upgrades to try and improve this?  
I've measured how tall he is using the regular Hasbro Voyager as the torso - comes in at 32cm which is approximately 12.5inch from OSKO foot to top of head antenna.

how much bigger will this guy be in combined mode? If hes about CW devastator sized I am in

 

much smaller than devastator, theyre the same size as the bmb volcanicus components and hes not much bigger than the stock volcanicus (pic is upgraded dinobots for both sets but its the only comparison i can find, stock volcanicus appears to have knee extenders)

the oversizing benefited the individual figures more so than the combined mode

 

I like both sizes ; depends what you are using them with and for at he time I suppose.

 

Most 12” Combiners are only oversized to 15”. 15” Combiners are oversized to 17”. This one was 12” to begin with.

Yeah, those are mine. I brought Hasbro up to 14.5”. BMB technically has risers in the ankles, too, because I made adapters for the TDW feet.

I think the larger Wei Jiang CW scale work well to make a big combiner the Aoyi Mech Abominus size though is a nicer size for play with a broader collection as they are basically Voyager size the Weig Jiang ones are a fair bit bigger and so look a bit strange. Though I guess if the beast mode ones were the ones made super large not the cars that would have been preferable over all.

If /when someone KO's the Seacons I'd be happy with either scale. I wonder if when they make the next release they will do a Constructicon or a Terrorcon or both close together ? I'd think they'd want to complete the set quickly so they can more on to more Siege items or start in on another combiner perhaps.

 

i doubt the seacons will get ko'd, so far its only been hasbro combiners plus groove for the 1:1 defensor, but he was also released by hasbro

 

The Takara deco of the Protectobots got a 1-1 scale KO, also the Seacons are kinda classed as Select series so they are getting some sort of western release since the Hasbro Pulse shop sells them. But it would be a logical thing to go with as they are remoulds after all - so it's less work for them - and they are more saleable than say Elita-1's Girl Band is in another size, as Animals suit the us-scaling very well.

I'd be more suprised if they DIDN'T make an over scale than I would if then did.

 

but all of the protectobot molds were directly released by hasbro, the seacons are being sold as imports, they're not hasbro releases. the only takara initiated mold from cw or potp that has been ko'd was groove, unless you count slingshot/jet blastoffs mold as takara initiated
