To be fair to MS, the plastic choice might have been a deliberate aesthetic choice as well. The more matte, non reflective surface does give it more of an animation look, rather than the toy look, and seeing as their designs are very toon centric (lack of kibble and detail, very simple yet slightly bulby silhouette lines etc) it's a good choice for that. We all liked it just fine for the most part until NA came along and gave us sexy shiny surfaces.

Leverage also comes into it- a long and thin part will snap far before a short and thin part. For instance, this part down the side of MS Prime’s cab has some tiny connections, and a lot of leverage down on a small part. I wouldn’t want to see that in a less flexible plastic.

also, that connection there works really well with nylon plastic’s flexibility, as it can fit snugly without breaking. In normal plastic, that tiny connector would be iffy at the least

On two different threads, no less. This has been going on on the NA Lucifer thread, too. Super fun.

I mean, this is a toy board, so you can expect a bit of childishness

They're a good bit larger, so they can work, but they're not as proportionally strong as if they were made in nylon

I have already “fixed” Prime’s elbow three times. The joint gets weaker each time. This is their flagship character. Terrible QC.

You know by weaker can’t hold weight, that kind of weaker. Don’t try to play a semantic game to make an argument.

Now MS Metallic Prime is amazing. Love it.

Yes, because metallic prime is a later release- they 'improved', just like you asked them to.

But Bluestreak is trending back to floppy town.

I have transformed him three times, and already and I can feel that super looseness coming on in the hips. A very enjoyable figure though. I hope it doesn’t get too loose.

    You'll be alright.

Oh discussions about the materials used in the figure being discussed is childish? Where am I? I thought this was the TFW Discussion forum? You know where they discuss things and critique figures and design choices?

What's this? Praise only? Don't rock the boat? What's that you say? Don't discuss? ...

Let's be happy to discuss things gentlemen and ladies. The good the bad and the ugly. It is the golden age for Legends scale collectors.

    Rejoice!

Yeah- the board where we critique figures and design choices, not people.

Ok, this argument has run it's course. Lets keep things civil and on topic. It's fine to discuss the plastic, but please state your opinion and move on without becoming insulting to others.
