Is this the first time we've seen the new head on Challenger? (excluding the Nemesis repaints)

 

Ditching the scale debate for a second, and I ask this purely because I'm interested, but what do you mean by 'TLK Megs came from Galvatron'?

Obviously his brain/spark/whatever transferred across but, to me anyway, Quintessa built him a new body from scratch to restore him to his former glory.

Proper transformation, cybertronion alt mode and his original size of about 35 feet.

Why would she keep him Galvatron sized when that entire form was an abomination and an affront to her creations?

Just my head cannon of course, God help any of us trying to plug all those plot holes.

 

If you don't count the unpainted prototype head then yes, this should probably be the first time.

 

I quite like how he's sizing up, though I'll wait for some more English reviews until I take the plunge. Looks brutal enough to tear a god in half, let alone Optimus Prime.

 

Wow, I must have really not been paying much attention to TLK, and I could try to blame it on the ridiculously unnecessarily long runtime of complete garbage, but I don't remember any part of Quintessa rebuilding Megatron from Galvatron. I did wonder why after he could freely transform into any combination imaginable in AoE that it seemed odd he went back to Megatron and a Cybertronian jet, but I just chocked that up to the usual garbage writing. This almost makes me want to go back and rewatch it for this explanation.... almost...

 

I'm just gonna leave this here...

Despite RG's size chart, I think - based on screenshots I've seen - that Megatron has been 30ft since ROTF. This is most especially seen in DOTM when he stood next to Sentinel on the tower.

He was 35ft only in MV1 because he was the big bad. And because he hasn't been one since 2007, ILM toned down his intensity and the threat he imposed on our heroes to make their other baddies (Fallen, Sentinel) more intimidating.

I'm a fan of 30ft Megatron because it puts him.. or at least make him look like an equal to Prime like in G1 rather than a giant looming monster to be feared as in Animated. Just my opinion.

 

TLK Megatron is 30'; none the less, this guy is going to have some pressence.

 

Laughs in Knightverse - KV OP is 16 (head canon 20', based on scaling from certain scenes), while KV Megatron looks to be 20', so I gess they're going for the looming big bad theme, which sadly forgoes a former friends route.

 

Truth is, people are attached a lot to the fan made scale charts and offerings of toys available, which it's understandable, but doesn't change the facts.

 

did UT ever justify the 33cm height?

Making something larger is the easiest way to make a figure with many different moving pieces.

 

That would’ve been cool but me was megatron again way way before quintessa came to earth so it’s really more sensical and simpler to imagine he just reformatted himself and went back to his old name. And transformers can do a lot to their bodies but they can’t really add or remove mass so I’d assume he would be galvatron sized. But the honest truth is no one knows cause there are cybertron-sized plot holes in that “film” that leave it entirely up to the imagination. The official scale thing that was posted a few posts back says he’s 30ft and he looks almost the same height as OP in most shots (with more bulk), and plus I just don’t want huge figures.

 

He had the red mark of Quintessa when we first see him in TLK so I just assumed he'd went to see her in between movies, got reformatted, and it was her who gave him the mission to find the staff.

 

I was onboard with this based on the cool design, but at that height it is just too large in relation to Challenger for me. Think I will just have to cancel. Shame it wasn't 30-31cm.
