I've always wondered about that. Clearly this thread was originally intended to be only for Bandai Metal Build, but other KO/3P/unofficial "Metal Build"-like figures (MoShow, Metal Club, etc) have been openly discussed before as well.
In hindsight we should've just called it "diecast robots thread" since we also share GFFC and on the very few occasions I did see some Metal Robot Damashii info being shared, and in all honesty that new Barbatos has enough diecast in it to be classified as a 1/144 metal build. Hopefully sometime down he line we make one cause I'd also like to see thoughts on the new pose+ and Carbotix figures as well as older EX gokins. If rather it be here than have to make another account on another forum. Also, it just occurred to me, there's the metal structure line. That's a line of its own since its branded as such yet we talk about it here. At this point this is just a diecast Gundam figures thread
I guess they can always rename this thread to something like “Bandai Metal Build, Metal Composite, Metal Robot , Metal Structure “ That should cover pretty much all the official Bandai metal series line and will be easy to search if you are looking for just a particular line . We can then have a new 3rd party ko thread. “3rd party Metal Alloy Or Diecast Mecha / KO of Metal Build, Metal Composite, Metal Robot , etc” That should cover everything , right ?
Another review for the upcoming 3P MB Red Chili Project (aka Sinanju). There are english subtitles on the channel. ShowZstore is asking for full payment for Red Chili, which means that its' release is right around the corner, though that would coincide with CNY....
Definitely, going to wait it out on this Sinanju. Seeing the packaging design for this guy is really "garage kit" level of packing. Maybe during the 2nd run they'll improve that. More impressions of the 3P Sazabi are coming out and the first run has some minor issues such as improperly cleaned nub marks, inner shoulder joint being kind of weak to hold up the weapons and the funnel container doesn't close as well as it could. No major breakages reported so that's good. Paint finish seems overall good too. My copy is on its way, but kind of wish I waited for the 2nd batch to see if they would fix anything.
We should go about doing it like how they did with the Sentinel toys threads: we make threads for all of the tamashii nation toy lines and then we abandon them for a sole tamashii nations thread I mean no ill will towards Sentinel or those who discuss in the thread, I just thought it was funny while trying to originally find the thread that was active
Dude right?? The packaging is TERRIBLE I honestly feel genuine embarrassment I mean look at this! If you're trying to sell this to me at least take some pride in your work
Agreed. At first, I thought maybe just maybe this is still just a pre-sample, but since the Sinanju is shipping soon this is probably how the 1st run is shipping. The makers really cheaped out on packaging here. I imagine all of those parts just clacking together throughout shipping.
I think the way this thread is setup now is perfect considering there is only 10-15 of us that actively even post in here anyway. It's also hard to keep up with all the Metal Build figures from 3rd Party to KOs. I found out about the TungMung Digimon figures in this thread and it's not gundam.
Agreed. Let's just keep this the all encompassing, metal build and metal build-like toys to keep things easier.
I guess Bandai limit the articulation of the leg in order to support the heavy diecast of his upper body.
With all the 3-P talk going on, does anybody have an idea with what happened to the MB Eva 01 3rd Party upgrade kit?
Ah man Showzstore just told me they shipped my Sazabi despite paying literally last minute. Was really hoping to get one of the secondary orders.
Hey guys, I've been following this thread for a while, that's how I know sometimes when metal builds are in stock in a website, and now I decided to create an account, so thanks for sharing links!
I got my first half of Sazabi in today. So far what joints I could mess with are tight. Tampo-printing is good, but could be a little sharper. Paint is crisp and well-applied. Plastic quality feels good, not too thin, not overly thick. LED works just fine. Hopefully, when I get part 2 and put him all together he'll be great.
Okay, full 3P Sazabi is in the house and it's not bad for a first time company. This is definitely, the MG + conversion kit with metal parts and really nice paint applications. After putting some bright lights on him the red is all painted. Most of the joints are sufficiently stiff, except the inner shoulder joints which are not strong enough to hold up the shield in some poses. The funnel pods sadly do not close all the way when the funnels are inserted. Plastic quality feels okay for the most part, but the side skirts are a little on the thin side for me. The backpack can pop-off when you're messing with the fuel tanks, but it stays on fine with mild- moderate handling. The LED in the mono-eye is red, but they give you an optional yellow LED, but you have to trim and solder the LED onto the toy if you want to switch them out. All of the panels open up like the MG and all of the insides are painted beautifully. Overall, this is a fine 1/100 Sazabi that you can pose occasionally and put with your other MBs or GFFMCs for the time being. Hopefully, the 2nd batch corrects the LED color and tightens up the backpack connection, funnel carton and the inner shoulder/ chest joint.

Ah crap. On the one hand I want these. On the other, I would prefer to have a Perfect Striker pack so that I can display as much in one shot as possible, but knowing Bandai, they will only announce the Perfect Striker pack LONG AFTER we’ll have committed to buy the standalone Sword/Launcher packs, essentially forcing us to double-dip...
