For you guys that are making custom 1/35 scale Aliens marines from knock off mega figure parts because you can't find the official marines in stores...you now have an affordable Aliens APC from a company that specializes in 1:18th figures ( Lanard..which was previously known as a ko company interestingly enough): 80732470_2827042830651403_5864245339757740032_o.jpg

Ok I kinda want that. Reminds me of the Rhino from GI Joe. Gonna have to paint it black though and mod it for the smaller figures

I know it's sacrilege, but I was never very fond of the Colonial Marines APC. It's so flat and square and low-detail, just meh. The Sigma 6 Rhino is, to my eyes, much more interesting.

As a person that values customizing over collecting i don't think that's sacrilege. ****...things work (for us) or they don't. I've always been found the APC visually appealing but as a person that makes vehicles for my KO figures that , often, actually function (RC) the Colonial Marines APC drives me *nuts*. It's a nice looking vehicle to drive on a flat surface but if you want to go off road you have to either raise the body or slant the front end upwards so much that the visual appeal is lessened a great deal. Trying to make the vehicle off road functional while remaining faithful to the original APC design is a mild challenge.

I'll need 2 of these so i can tinker.

And hell yeah the Rhino is superior :D

Maybe but Lepin was copying Lego piece for piece, they didn't even bother with making their own new sets as well as coping the Lego Logo.

Ok I'm gonna say it, these figures are a pain In the ass to put together! The shoulder and elbow joints are way too tight and the fit and finish on some of the recent sets are pretty bad. I with the figures came pre assembled. I have several still in their bag because I refuse to put them together!

Are you guys specifically speaking of the set in the video?

Eh, I'd guess no. The figures typically come fully disassembled. That's including the hinges at the shoulders and elbows. With the runners nature of the pieces and the small diameters typically having close tolerances, they can be an issue to assemble.

Interesting. I bought this set most recently for parts and everything went together easily. However i have seen Unfriendly mention needing oil in his videos a few times. So product tolerances seem slightly inconsistent. Almost like they are.... knockoffs :D  Speaking of which i need some red joints *runs off*

The newer sets are a real pain. Like the holes aren't big enough for the pieces to fit.

I really appreciate the knock offs insistence on taking market share (small though it may be) while the companies that make official product are squeezed off of brick and mortar toy shelves by larger official product producers and large retail store chains. The KO's won't be denied. I really admire that.

Unfortunately the exosuit was a bit too small for my liking, especially to go toe to toe with their queen. The fact that there doesn’t seem to be a place for the arms (even for inserting better articulated figures) is another downside.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've always viewed the Exo Suits as custom fodder. For the price i'd expect to dremel / pin drill some holes to create hinges and hollow out some areas to accommodate limbs. Of course because i have the tools to do that....i never found one in person lol.

I'd like to spend a few hours with a dremel , the yellow exo suit and a yellow Knock Off Mega figure.
