The timeline of Doomsday Clock may not be what we end up with. Didio doesn't like happy heroes

I can't believe they are going to make the same stupid mistake of suddenly jumping ahead in time and aging the characters. Didio has already had this shitty idea and it was shitty the first time he did it.

But one thing I am enjoying is DC' Joe Hill horror comics imprint. I just started reading them last night and they're great. Although Hill is only writing one of the books, plus the back up feature which runs through all the books. They started with two series, let them run a couple issues, and now have added two more series. And I think that's going to be the entire line. But the creative teams are all great.

Didio just keeps doing the same thing over and over and wondering why sales keep dropping and the long term audience keeps going away.

Well I think there's a lot we could all learn from this man, though. I mean, how is he able to experience disaster after disaster, failed hail mary after failed hail mary, combined with constantly shrinking market and sales, yet continually spin all that to his bosses in such a way as to be able to hold onto his job for as long as he has...all these years? It's nothing short of miraculous. I've never seen anything like it anywhere in any field.

I'm not going to lie, I admire that ability in him and wish I had that. Plus, his enthusiasm is undeniable. I do like that about him, too. It's just his creative choices that sometimes make me want to scream.

Having read Wonder Woman #750, they did tease the new timeline:

Wonder Woman is now considered to be the first superhero, and does predate the Justice Society of America. While the new timeline doesn’t go any further then that, it’s a nice start.

The issue was pretty good, with decent stories and great artwork, although it’s not like Action Comics #1000 or Detectives Comics #1000, where the pages are evenly distributed between each story.

The first story is takes up most of the pages within the issue, since a finale to the story arc that occurs prior to this issue. It was still fun to read though, and it might make me pick up this series...once I have a free comic slot, as I found out, I’m following a lot of comic series, and it’s getting quite pricey.

It’ll be interesting to see if The Flash #750 continues to tease the new timeline.

If Superman can't be the first super-hero, I guess I'm fine with it being Wonder Woman. I'd still prefer the Earth-2 characters to have their own world, but whatever.

I don't get the resistance to having Earth-1/Earth-2 team-ups, the way they used to. You can still have the characters interact any time you want. But it would allow the Justice League to have had the idea to form be their own, rather than because they were inspired by someone else. For me, it's especially problematic to have Clark Kent decide to become a hero by having him be inspired by others. It's kind of a slap in the face of Siegel & Shuster, who pioneered the entire fucking genre to begin with.

Flash is fine, because Barry was inspired to take the name from the Golden Age Flash anyway. But for everyone else, it lessens them. We have the Multiverse back finally, and people like it. So I don't see why they DC is so dead set against using it. And ignoring Superman creating the genre kind of makes Doomsday Clock even more pointless than it already was.

Yeah, that's true. I do believe Geoff Johns was toying with bringing in an Earth 2 closer to the original back before Flashpoint mucked up everything, he was teasing it thru revisions in the Infinite Crisis trades with Kal-L's death (which I wasn't happy with, what a terrible way to send off the original Superman) as well as that 1 page future teaser in the JLA relaunch. Who knows what DC is planning now though. Don't think they've acknowledged any of the other big changes in Doomsday Clock right now.

Things seem to make a bit more sense, regarding what happened between Justice League #39 and Year of the Villian: Hell Arisen #1. But it won’t be until issue #4 of that miniseries that Year of the Villain will come to an end.

We got a tease of the next DC event will be about:

Personally I feel Bendis needs something like the Ultimate Universe, a place where he can play with the big name characters and people don’t really care as much about the crazy liberties he takes with certain characters.

I'm liking Young Justice. And his Legion is super-unfocused but still kind of promising. And I like the Wonder Twins book that is under his imprint.

Bendis doesn't bother me so much because he's always like this, fucking with characters and bending them out of shape, but when he leaves, they'll get fixed. We all know Bendis is the temporary anomaly in these situations. Snyder kind of bothers me more, because DC treats him like their baseline. Like his vision is what things will snap back to when writers are done with characters. And I'd rather that was almost anyone else.

Oh, they mean the comics and cartoons exist in the DCU. Not the characters. That's fine.

Would not be shocked if they have the cartoon. They have star wars as a movie.
