Trying to compare those shows from the 80s to the poor stylistic choices of today's cartoons isn't really a fair comparison. Those cartoons were going for realism. The modern cartoons are not.
I’ll admit the only things I liked was the joke when the robots kept saying mumra despite it harming them, and the voice acting (too bad they voice actors are stuck with a shitty show...).
That joke was funny when billy and mandy did it decades ago in it's harry potter spoof. Yes this show stole a joke from billy and mandy!
I watched it and it’s fine. If it was anything other than Thundercats no one here would give a shit. Screened it for a bunch of kids at work who enjoyed it too, then made fan art afterward, they’re who it’s aimed for. The 80’s references were for me, it’s basically a kids show parents will get something out of too.
It's Thundercats so it isn't a high bar of quality to clear but that was fine, I'm sure it'll pick up speed later on. The art style isn't to my liking but the animation is, I really liked how they moved. Respect? It's a reboot based off of a LJN toyline for 3 year olds calm down.
Aw aye are ya? You gonna make a whole 22 episode 11 minute cartoon for Cartoon Network are ya? Getting tired of Cal arts? A school that has been around since like what the 60's? Getting tired of the Cal arts style? A phrase by noted failure of a man and massive sex pest John K, because he saw the Iron giant and went "Oooooh CAL ARTS!!!!" because he knew he'd never be able to make anything half as good? Anyways, here's a list of notable Cal Arts Alimni, Tim Burton, cal arts style master. Alumni | CalArts School of Film/Video S'all varied ain't it? It's almost as if aesthetics come and go, like in 80's where everything was cheap and stilted and you're parents were still together.
I meant aesthetics, you had the comic book styled, detailed...ish, but stilted of the 80's, the shape focused and thick lines of the 90's, the anime-esque of 00's and the cutesy round 10's. And also you clearly didn't read the link, Cal arts, has been a thing, for, years and, years, and years, and comma years now.
It's really not, Steven Universe, OK KO, Amazing world of Gumball, Transformers Cyberverse, just to name a few, are all recent shows that have not been created by Cal Arts alumni.
But cartoons all look that same nowadays! sometimes I genuinely think people look back and remember how good the intros were to these shows and force themselves to believe the entire show was animated the same way.
