Giga's sole purpose as a company was to make the Dinobots and it shows. They nailed it with their releases.

I prefer both. I've said it before but how i see them:

FT - these sit in my main display, next to TE Optimus Prime and FT Jetfire\Skyfire and my other Autobots (mix of BC, TT and Toyworld). They fit into the overarching G1 MP style. They are amazing in their own right and really, really work well with other MPs.

Gigapower - these have their own display - i have one of the small Ikea Billy bookcases that joins two larger ones and they take 1 shelf each. I have the Chrome versions, and they are bling and stylised and while they are kind of G1, for me they stick out a bit too much when put alongside the 'normal less bling' bots i have. However, on their own, they really really pop. They are just an awesome display centrepiece.

Both sets look amazing, are superbly made, easy to transform and possibly to the top two sets of MP bots on the market today.

They both look nice but I had to go with Fanstoys because I just didn’t like the look of Giga’s Swoop in robot mode. That might just be me but it was enough to go FT.

I have both but ultimately settled on Giga for a couple reasons-

    1) The chrome finishes were so much nicer than finishes on any FT except for their original Slag (who is probably my favorite one they did).

    2) FT's snarl never looked quite right to me. I even picked up the black version hoping it would sit better with me.

3)by the time they got to Sludge, FT had moved into the simplified toon designs like has/tak. So I preferred Giga's version.

I actually like the FT Slag better than Giga's, but he's so much smaller than anybody else that I've ended up with Giga's Slag as well.

In theory I meant to switch the 2 groups out from time to time, but Giga's have been up for a very long time and FT's haven't.

i dont own any of the fanstoys ones, could not be arsed to wait for a reissue and i wasn't gonna pay the stupid prices

So i went with giga, A for the price and B for the size, which i prefer

And i do like them, but i'd would excersize extreme caution when transforming them especially around the tail area, i almost broke my sludge, i also thought i had broken my grimlock several times, once with his little dino arms, his right shoulder when his cheast slides down and have to pull the shoulder out

I love them but handle them with kid gloves if you do go giga, that's my expirence with them

I like fanstoys better since I think it is more toon accurate in term of looks and height. GIGA is really great also, simply can’t go wrong with these two sets.

Been wondering this myself. Anyone got a side by side with the two sets in Dino mode?

Swoop was also a factor for me, but for b gigapower.

Dinobots were featured primarily in alt/dino mode for most of the cartoon, and I didn't like how FTs swoop was a box shape with wings and a beak. Gigas swoop actually has a transformation scheme where the torso tapers in in pteranadon mode, so it's less geometric. It's a really great innovation.

I like the Dinobots, but I only have the TT Grimlock. Is he good. Not really, but his scale work better for the purpose I have intended with him. If I got any of the bigger ones it would dwarf Comera(Slash) for my Conan/Grimlock diorama I'm working on. Hopefully I can get working on it again soon. This time of year with all the other volunteer activities I do really limits my time.

Both are excellent choices, and both have their advantages. I can't justify two parallel collections, and FT was out sooner, so I committed early.

Having owned a few of both... you can't go wrong with either. Just hold onto your wallet and wait for the eventual reissues before paying mark-up.

Your question should really be: 'Should I get the CHROME or the METALLIC Gigasaurs?'.
