Well got it transformed back and repackaged for is return. No new cracks or stress marks pre or post transformation (it had been standing on a shelf in robot mode since the initial transformation last weekend). If not for the broken missile armature, think I had an overall good one. Ah well.

I'm the same. I've never even transformed the MT Seekers or first Conehead because they came in robot mode! That's actually pretty bad...

I am the opposite, I transform my bots only if they come in robot mode, but only if I buy two copies.

Yea might as well play with yours now if you're still within the exchange/refund period with your retailer. If the green plastic really is from a bad batch, it's going to break inevitably, so might as well see if it breaks now during the refund/exchange period, rather than after where you can't do anything with it.

Same and same - long-time reader, first-time poster. Feel compelled to voice my experience.

Mine broke in exactly the same place in exactly the same way the first time I transformed it, with very little applied pressure. I was left sitting looking at it, stunned, as I couldn't believe what had just happened. Thought it must have been meant to do that or something...

Never had anything like that happen before with any other MPs I own. It definitely rankles.

For what it’s worth, I have experienced breakage like this before on HFTD Oil Pan. First time transforming him, I rotated his back panel and it just twisted completely off like soft chocolate. I don’t remember if I contacted Hasbro for a replacement or decided I didn’t want to bother with their typical form letter and random replacement.

Defective materials are defective materials, and can happen regardless of the line a figure is in. It’s a real shame that MP Hound ended up getting a bad batch of plastic, and I’m sorry to see you’ve both had this experience.

I’m curious, did anyone order Hound through Hasbro Pulse? I wonder if that shipment will have breakage as well. Looks like it ships out later this month.

Wow - they really nailed the cartoon aesthetic with MP-44 Prime - didn’t realize he was that small, though.

Curious about this too--we know from MP-17+ and MP-18+'s production codes that the Hasbro releases are technically a separate production run; 'twill be interesting.

Would any of us here know if the Hasbro MPs are made in a different factory? If not, this will be a second round disaster.

I don't think it was like this. Sat on shelf. Now it's like this. Neck arm crack.

That's a common defect. Mine had the same issue. The post that rotates within that cracked piece is too large (possibly due to the application of a layer of paint to the post prior to insertion). The fix is straightforward...I'll post a link to the post with the fix in a moment...

I just want to try to eliminate as much room for error as possible when I do my first transformation.

Can somebody please explain what is being referred to in the various steps of the insert addition to the instructions?

The insert has corrected versions of a few steps and I think an added step or two. I used Google’s translate app on my smartphone to get a rough translation of all instruction steps, including those on the insert. I’d recommend doing that if you can, it was helpful.

    So question...

Sometimes once something cracks on a hinge, once the tension is released, the plastic is thick enough that further damage won’t happen?

    Is that the case here?

Well, kid gloves are off. A part of the seat that becomes the bottom of the toe was broken. 20200112_000206.jpg
