3rd party - at about 2500 atm with a final goal of about 3k (going for a 1986 shelf+ full GP dinobots)
1st party - about 2500 as well, but ive sold a lot of them over the years and replaced.

Wow... The MSRP of my current on-hand collection (not counting the stuff I sold or traded) is smack dab in the middle of my estimate! So factor in the stuff I had as a kid and all the stuff I've sold or traded, I'm actually right around the high end of my earlier guess. Need to go talk to my insurance guy.

Ah, and here's the thread I'll never show my fiance...

And over 3K. Maybe over 4K.

How are you guys coming up with some low numbers? If I say that each figure is $100 (yes, quite a few will be lower, but I expect that the ones that are more will more than make up the difference, and this estimate is actually going to be on the low side) I'm coming up with I'm over $11,000 at just what's on display. That's before I get to any combiners, or any figures currently put away, figures that have shipped but haven't arrived, official CHUG, TF Prime, and Studio Series figures, or Maketoys Utopia (who's in a separate display). I'd guess the actual number is probably between $15,000-$20,000

I don't even want to think about it. If you were to count G1, Re-issues, RID, Armada, POTP, Titans, and now MP and 3rd party.
aye ya.. Enough I should of just bought a nice classic car or something.

I can tell you that a few years back I decided to sell everything except MP, and the total recovered amount was a little under 40K. The collection consisted of a near loose but complete G1 collection, several of the more sought after Japanese G1's, and just a ton of stuff between G1 and whatever was out when I decided to sell, which was a little beyond when Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters concluded. I also had a TON of CHUG 3P, and I got lucky enough to sell that stuff when the market was still pretty hot. Also quite a bit of specialty stuff like BotCon sets and various exclusives.

While some are accurate, I would expect the rest is denial.

An insane amount. I solidly collected everything from BW to Animated and a lot of the Japanese figures that were either exclusive repaints or minor color tweaks to be more show accurate. That includes most of the Japanese stuff as well. Went back and collected about 90%of G1 mostly missing micromaster. Probably about 50 percent of G2 all of machine wars. Most of the Major G1 Japanese characters.

I dwindled don my buying mostly around Revenge of the fallen and focused on an immaculate Classics collection. Then MP Soundwave and Prowl happened and I realized TT was going to start working on a full on MP line instead of one offs so I changed gears once again. Quakewave and Scoria sealed the 3P deal.

Long story short probably enough to have a decent home and car with what I spent total.

Easy. I buy a lot of stuff on sale, via china, and a lot are gifts over the years, and limit what I buy to 1984-1986 characters. No CHUG, no WFC, no Studio Series. Keeps costs low.

    I had a rough idea.
I started to do the math to get a better idea. When I reached double the amount of my first rough idea, I stopped doing the math.

$8000+ But Since I live in Costa Rica the prices I pay for each figure are higher than usual. I don't feel bad or remorse for spending that much, because I enjoy very much every transformer I own.

Oh my, I thought I was an average collector. I'm at $27,823 (per my most recent spreadsheet).

15k of it on 3rd Party, the rest on Licensed product.

That is over about 15 years though.

Well, all of Siege this year was $1.8k or so; all of the SS figures and MPMs that I have are probably around $1k; I’ve got $800 sunk into 3A/Threezero, and about $2.4k on MP/3rd Party MP; so, accounting for any underestimates (I didn’t count Prime Wars because I only just started collecting and didn’t get them all, but I have some that I didn’t count) about $6.3k? And my Marvel Collection is probably about $8k or $9k deep. At least, I think. I don’t really WANT to do the math.
