Okay, sooooo... A Ratchet I ordered when it first released (and which I thought was definitely lost in the mail with not even the seller knowing what had happened to it) just pitched up. BONUS?!?

It would be useless to try and resell, not real market here in South Africa and I don't like multiples of non-armybuilders. Any suggestions of who I could possibly repaint him into (and I don't have any interest in SG)?

Not a bad idea. He'll need a new head whoever he becomes, the current sculpt is too clearly ratchet to be anyone else.

A few nice Ratchet mods I've seen have been repaints into his Marvel comics deco. That's another option!

I think a retool of TR Galvatron that was not a Headmaster and had the cannon in the right place would be perfect. Just not for me. I'm fine with my TR Galvatron and the arm adapter I got for him and the paint I added to his head.

I’m such a fan of the Siege line and I also think the Earthrise ‘bots look great. As collectors, I believe we’re living in the best possible time, I mean, they’re hitting classic faves, they’re hitting classic “random characters,” and they just nailing it. I’m not saying sometime down the line there won’t be a better Jetfire than the Siege one, who knows? But right now, Hasbro, IMHO, is just crushing it. There’s only one thing that’s slightly bothering me. Just one. Just one teensy thing. Like, it doesn’t affect my love of all of the items out or coming out or even hinted at.

No new characters. I know, I know, a new character would take the slot of an existing one, but I had hoped the cybertronian ‘bots/‘cons would have a few characters who didn’t make it to earth (well, they had Shockwave and the rainmakers and Impactor too) because they sacrificed themselves or were killed or whatever. Like we got an awesome Apeface and supposedly Snapdragon is coming. But wouldn’t it be great if there were a third headmaster horrorcon? Or the helicopter/horse triple changer prototype made real? Or Autobot versions of horrorcons? Or a combiner we never got to see. Something new sprinkled in with the old.

I’ve been a fan since the beginning. I got Ratchet, Optimus Prime, and Prowl right before the cartoon came out. And collected transformers ever since. One thing I’ve always loved is how newer characters have woven themselves into the myths. It’s great. I just want more.

barricade and hot shot are more or less new to g1, redwing was more or less new and the modulators are new characters (previously the character was the micromaster not the base)

Installed Shockwave Lab's LED upgrade for Omega Supreme last night. It went pretty smooth, none of the glued pegs broke off when opening Omega's head and arm. The eye LEDs are wayyyyyy too bright!
