FWIW my copy is still going strong after gluing the partial crack in the rear leg hinge and doing some filing. Of course, I've only transformed him from Jeep->Robot->Jeep->Robot->Jeep. However I was deliberately pretty rough this last time (as I need to start really putting it through its paces up until the AJ return period is over), flexing and creaking plastic all over the place, and no further signs of stress or damage of any kind. The plastic still "feels" just as strong to me as on other releases. I'm going to try to transform him every day or every other day to be sure...if it continues to hold up this well I'll still be pretty pleased that I kept him rather than waiting for a reissue. If not, I'll learn the hard way!

I'm still super impressed with the alt mode and the amazing site of the first vehicle with exposed interior in MP history.

Beautiful pics! I sure can't wait to get mine. Praying to win the virtual lottery on no cracks etc.

I prayed for a broken hound from TCP so I can end my streak of unbroken toys.
That hasn’t happened yet. I’ve transformed mine into car and back at least five times. It survived a 4 food dive off my bookshelf when I grabbed it by the soft top and it unclipped (don’t do that btw). Nothing’s broken! Somehow.
    * shrugs*
The problematic ones clearly exist, but indestructible ones also exist.

Makes sense. Don’t let the right hand know what the left is doing kinda jazz. Writers would sometimes put mistakes in their books to deter/catch plagerism. The only other way I can see them stopping thieves while keeping manufacturing under one roof is to have the assembly line in bathing suits past tight security measures.

Not sure how many ethical complaints that would raise though.

You'll want silicone or water based I reckon. Shock oil is silicone based so that's a solid solution. Someone else mentioned wd40 but I'm not sure how the plastic might react so I went shock oil

I don't post here often but I had to share the sad news. I received mine yesterday from TFSource after many months of having it on pre-order and excited for the release. It ended up costing me $175 with the tax. So I opened the box, took it out, and was about to start transforming it when I see the passenger side door broken off at the hinge. I was so stunned I didn't even bother with the transformation. The figure is otherwise untouched.

After reading this thread I'm disappointed that Takara released such a shoddy product. I'm pretty bummed out about this. I feel ripped off especially for how much it cost me. No one should feel scared about transforming this toy for fear of breaking it, its a Transformer! That's the whole point of having it.

I contacted TFSource for a refund and haven't received a response. Hopefully they contact me soon as I don't want be out $175 bucks for a broken figure. If this continues I think I will retire from buying MP figures.

Transformed mine back to alt-mode for a few photos. Thought I made it through unscathed...

Unfortunately found a crack on the hinge of one of the doors. Will try to fill with a bit of glue eventually...

I think there's not much worse than discovering a (self formed) crack after thinking you had a good copy.

This here is pretty much what inspired me to put mine through his paces the other day. I don’t tend to transform my figures all that often, and I would have been gutted if I decided to do so a few months from now and was faced with a breakage.

Me too. Sure they're taking their f#####g time to ship it, but if it eventually comes out a good copy i'll forgive 'em. At the end, my mp 44 copy from them didn't suffer from knee bursting syndrome ...

Same here. Wondering if they've seen the fallout and thinking woah there! Half expect a cancelled order.

I actually wonder what % of figures need to be effected for them to do a product recall? Or do companies only do that when there's a danger to the public (ie they could be sued).

Depends who you bought from, Kapow in UK won't accept returns if the break shows up during transformation I learnt after I called them to explain my side panel fell off during transformation.

    box: J1719
    Figure: I2619

edit: Yup, member for 16 1/2 years and 18 posts. The issues with this figure are so poor it made me come out of lurking.
