Guys, it really depends on the violence, since most Terminator movies are rated R, some kids actually watch Terminator movies.
If it were Dark Horse publishing it then no, but since this is IDW and John Barber is coming back to write it I expect it'll be similar to ROM in terms of violence. Lots of people dying but little outright blood or gore that would disturb young minds.
There's a large disparity between the content of a movie and toys. I don't think that saying that because a movie got toys means that it's a child's program is fair. T2 was rated R with multiple scenes including violence, graphic violence, and extreme language.
Depends on how they do it. In terms of violence lots of kids have probably seen a lot worse just playing games like Mortal Kombat or watching very violent anime. And idk about you guys, but damn, some of those TF comics you've all shown off are straight nightmare fuel. So if kids can handle that...
The point is, if you can make toys to that movie, you can also make a comic for kids with characters of that movie.
Don't forget they made a Robocop cartoon show specifically for kids. Robocop the film is arguably more adult than any Terminator film. You probably mean, can it be kid-friendly, and still be good.
Sure, I mean why not? Parent's let their kids do whatever nowadays anyway, it could be super dark and not appropriate and they'd still have access to it anyways.
THE Transformers/Terminator crossover does not look kid-friendly, just off the IDW cover. Of course, A Transformers/Terminator crossover can always be done less violent for kids. Basically, the Terminator travels back in time to "STOP" (not Kill) John Connor & the human resistence. Just like in G1 cartoon (before the movie), killing is implied but not shown or mentioned.
In a world where parents are extremely permissive and allow impressionable, developing children to see, hear, eat, and use anything they like: sure. Should children be targeted for PG-13 and R-rated type content? No. It's irresponsible and head-in-the-sand mentality.
