Nah, it's cool. Earth modes for Beast Wars characters first would probably be best anyway. Like I said before, BW isn't G1. Hasbro will do a lot more to earn the trust of BW fans as of now.

    Great stats :)  thanks Barry.

I know there will always be people who want Hasbro to do something completely radical and new across a whole line, but personally I see Generations as anthology lines that pull together what's been done elsewhere. Launching a product line with around 33% "risky" product seems like a really good balance for fans. Just not everyone will agree on the how risk that 33% is or if it's want they personally want.

I hope everyone gets a little something for them.

Kinda Sorta G1 is still relating to G1 more than anything else. As such, I'd do the calculation thus:

    63 (66.3%) G1 + 23 (24.2%) Kinda Sort G1 = 86 (90.5%) G1/Kinda Sorta G1.

Enjoy the 9 (9.5%) everyone else.

I feel like there’s a distinction between what’s good for BW and what’s good for BW characters.

See: Cyberverse Cheetor. Great for Cheetor, less great for BW as a separate franchise.

I think it would be epic to have a purple tank named Gnashteeth as a rank and file Decepticon with a mysterious allegiance to Cryotek and a shadow cult that worships Onyx Prime.

And then Megatron becomes Galvatron or an Autobot and then Gnashteeth seizes the moment, launches a coupe backed by Predaking and the Horrorcons, and declares himself the new Megatron, assuming a dragon form. And begins implementing a forced reformatting of Decepticons into Predacons.

The image of BW Megatron killing the G1 version for going mad or soft and demanding to be called Megatron in his place — to me that’s something that would prop him up forever as something more than a crime lord in a skirmish who stumbles into something more.

Great for his image. Great for narrative. Maybe not the best thing for BW as a separate thing.

I don’t think Dawn of the Predacus was perfect but I really like the idea of a recognizable G1-ish status quo that is BW at the end of a story as opposed to BW being this weird detached thing that’s 300 years later but also millions of years ago.

I’d kind of prefer a Beast Wars that’s closer to how I saw the toys before the cartoon launched with Optimus Prime and Megatron becoming a bat and an alligator after G2 which takes place after The Rebirth and then these other guys come in and are new characters who displace the bat and gator on 202x earth. A world where presumably Daniel Witwicky is an adult hanging out with Grimlock.

Yeah. I want something set in a recognizable present day where Rodimus Prime was the leader back in 2005. Eh. The cities didn’t look that different in Season 3. Just say that Earth Defense Command was a secret thing and Marissa was an Iraq war vet. And there were some fancy fictional cars for awhile. And an Autobot City. No weirder than stuff in the DC or Marvel backstory. Either Bucky Barnes or the Human Torch’s sidekick Toro killed Hitler, who rose from the dead to fight the Fantastic Four about “ten years ago”.

Disagree 2.0 cyclonus is much better then the classic seeker mold ,better articulation, a better transformation, and a all-around better figure
Potp hun-gurr is probaly the best combiner torso made imo

Nae worries and my pleasure! I think they’re probably true for the rest of this trilogy and we can most likely expect about a third of this and the following line to be made up of ‘not safe bet G1’ figures. Which, I think is useful when considering the ‘shape’ of the rest of this line and whatever part 3 winds up being.

If you still have your list handy, just out of curiosity, who were the 9?

Definitely. Scale him up with improvements to pre-Siege Voyager scale, or at least Siege Leader scale.

Okay. If you're just gonna disagree to disagree.
Armada Sideswipe is the best TF toy ever made :lol

Well... I can kinda see where you're coming from perhaps. I think UCyclonus has that outer shoulder movement and Abominus has no back kibble?
Everyone has different demands for a toy.

Siege Leader is still a lot taller than old Voyager.

"Eh, I'm pretty happy with the Starscreams I have, no rush to buy Earthrise version..."

He looks so good, holy crap. Does anyone have anything objectively negative they feel about this new Starscream mold?

He does look great, i love his colouring, the only thing I don't like is how seemingly limited his possibility is compared to the siege version ie no waist swivel

IMO, while extra articulation is definitely nice I prefer the cleaner alt-mode of Earthrise over Siege.

A case of differing tastes. The universe 2.0 version has always been a personal favorite of mine, barring the size. I liked the way he looked in both modes, thought the transformation between was simple but fun enough that I liked to transform him back and forth.
I've always been of the impression that it was a popular mold, but people are going to like/be turned off by different stuff.

I don't looks great but there's a lot of folks dying on the hill of waist swivel (who weren't around for Apeface). I think it looks great. Waist swivel is like the least used articulation point so I'm not too concerned especially considering the final product.

How have I not thought of Swindle as part of the mercs before? It seems a rather good fit.

I hope we eventually get an earth mode Soundwave and a Soundblaster repaint for him, preferably an SUV.

I still desperately crave any part of the Last Stand crew.

swindle should and should get a new merc figure, who doesn't combine, because swindle has that character and could be sold on his own, and if you disagree I will break your legs, maybe
