He’s a super nice guy. I contacted him and mentioned the hair issue with Tygra and he said they are taking note of certain things people catch and that they are not using the same head for Bengali. (In no uncertain terms) If you have feedback and send it to them in a tactful way they are very responsive. Anyway good luck out there Thundercats fans.
I love the fact that they made him bigger than all the other figures, as he should be... Soon, I'll have modern updates of some key villains...
I really don’t have a direct line I am no one special, just a customer. I just message him and he responds back almost like some of the smaller retailers here Toydojo etc.
Indeed. But what I really love about that pic is that it gives a correct comparative scale for the size of the vintage figs. Even back in the toy world of the 80s, Mumm-Ra was a big dude.
I was going to get the main cast. After some thought, I just can't bring myself to spend $45 a figure. For the 4 main adults TCs, 3 mutants and mummy Mumm-Ra, it ends up being $360. That doesn't even include the thunderkittens, snarf or transformed Mumm-Ra. The $60 for Mumm-Ra really sealed the thoughts. Went and cancelled my Wave 1 preorders.
Yeah, I'm thinking of cancelling. I keep going back and forth on just how badly I need these figures and it just feels like I don't need them all that badly.
I feel both your pain...because I was mulling over collecting them. Tbh unless TC can another proper reboot...I don’t see a bigger company like Hasbro picking the licence up. Although i PO-ed the entire wave, my main goal are the 5 adult cats, the kittens, 3 mutants and Mumm-Ra...after that it will depend on any extra cash. Of course, dropping some lines like DC, MOTU Classics (ended?), MP TFs helps alot.
I'm in for the five main cats, the kittens, the 3 secondary cats, 5 mutants, Grune, Jagga, and Mumm-Ra... and if they get to the Lunataks I might get them too. Any other characters I could see them doing like Snowman or Mandora will have to depend on how I'm feeling at the time and if something from another line is more pressing. I really don't feel the need for an extensive line up when it comes to Thundercats. Especially not at $50 apiece.
This is why I like you. You don’t need an extensive line-up after you name about 17 characters at roughly $7-800 plus maybe the Lunataks...depending how I’m feeling. My problem is once I get that deep the weirder less known characters become more interesting to me. I definitely need those though. I need the line to make it to Bengali at least and Vultureman. I can’t wait to see what the Horsemen do with the Evil Mutants. I have just about every MOTU Classics character and Thundercats has way more interesting designs and I think a better property...overall.
I'm gonna try to discipline myself like Laser_Op, but I may let loose a bit with the Thundercats, as they're in my top 3 toy franchises (TFs and Joes are the other two). MOTUC isn't in the top 5, so it's been easier to pare that line down to the bare essential characters (with a Tri-Klops thrown in). Easy especially given my limited display space. With Thundercats, I plan to have at least a shelf for the heroes and one for the villains, which means about 15 or so figures for each side. I just hope we'll have the luxury of skipping figures we don't want with this line.
15 Villians, were there really 15, oh wait that's right there was that weird family that mumm ra imprisoned and then had the mutants release
There are at least 20, don’t forget the Lunataks and Berserkers, not including fucksticks like Safari Joe.... Evil Characters
Yup. Beat me to it. Was about to try to list all the fucksticks myself. But man, there are like 70 or so villains alone. The world-building that they did for Thundercats really made that 'toon stand out. A result of that is a lot of interesting characters to choose from when making toys.
