Mine is still in the box haha! I think he looks awesome but I'm saving him for when I'm bored. Right now I'm having a lot of fun with the Arcees.

I got mine a couple days ago and I’m really enjoying him. I haven’t had any issues rotating the headlight pieces. You just have to use a little finesse. The main thing is to follow the directions exactly; they have to rotate in a particular direction.

Really loving this figure! Probably the best of the line in my eyes. I really hope someone cranks out a couple of guns for him soon, as of right now I have him holding SS Sideswipe's blasters but they don't stay well at all on their own. Had to use a ton of blue tack to keep them in place for now

How does Soundwave look next DOTM Wheeljack in robot/vehicle mode for anyone who has DOTM WJ?

Probably too small compared to Wheeljack/Que. I don't have that toy readily accessible to me at the moment (nor Soundwave in-hand yet), but I remember that toy being surprisingly large.

I'm really, REALLY happy with this stubby little dude. His transformation isn't as aggravating as I thought it would be, though the way the headlights "rotate" freak the hell out of me. Still he's a lot of fun in both modes.

pretty figure, pretty fucked up engineering.
the stupid tab behind the front bumper kept jamming the head's rotation, and it was not possible to unlock the head.
the silver paint, while nice, creates all sort of problems in achieving a seamless alt mode without any steps. I am sure this toy looked great as a prototype, but the execution is badly flawed. And it's a shame, because the design and transformation scheme are outstanding.

His head angles back further than it feels. There should be enough clearance to rotate that piece.

it's not the head, it's the plastic tab on the inside of the car's front part.

I'm still not able to transform Soundwave without the headlight areas falling off.
So close to being a great figure.

Pretty easy for me, I just push the headlights inward to the torso halfway through their rotation and they clear the tabs fine. When I push them inward, I use light force so they don't pop out and they naturally glide through the motion. It's super easy if you know how to do it. (and you can tell I'm being honest because I'm about to be negative about this figure anyway)

Transforming this figure is a cake walk for me, but I must confess... He's kind of dull. I've painted mine a little bit to touch him up but he still looks bland to me, and I struggle to get him into any exciting poses. Fortunately, subtle poses fit Soundwave fine, but he's no pushover in combat, and this toy has a hard time expressing that for me. Having a weapon would make that easier, but his rubber hands can barely grip any of the weapons I have lying around...

I'm shocked I'm so underwhelmed by this figure; it doesn't do anything wrong, but it doesn't do anything to hold my attention either. :/

just to be sure, does anybody else's tab on the hood get trapped while rotating? not talking about the head getting in the way.

Yeh he hardly grips dotm soundwave's gun. Wonder why doesnt have a weapon considering he does actually use a gun in the film...

Got a pic of this tab? I dont have any issues.

Is it bad that I feel the same way? I've barely touched him since I got him. He can't pull off any super exciting poses, and "standing there looking intimidating" loses its appeal after a couple hours. I think I just don't really care for this version of Soundwave maybe, but I feel weird since so many people are calling him one of the best ss deluxes and stuff, and I LOVE the car he's based on. But also they didn't even give him a weapon! I'm hoping the satellite one is better and more dynamic. I always really liked that idea for him anyways, but I suppose he had to come to earth eventually.

Okay, I just transformed this figure and for the first time the headlight sections did NOT pop off! I followed your advise, but turning them before actually transforming the torso completely and they glided into place.
    Thanks!

I can't, I trashed my SS SW because of the frustration.
