Another recommendation for the Pro Controller. It’s great - battery lasts a very long time, and it’s far more comfortable than the Joy Cons in the holder thing.

I'm still waiting for the Arkham series on switch. Arkham City was on the Wii U

I'd be happy with Star Fox Zero and Pikmin 3, never had a Wii U (didn't think it was worth getting) and those are the remaining games I wanted to play from it.

I can get behind a Pikman 3 port.

Personally, I want Xenoblade Chronicles X and Windwaker. Both seem unlikely though. Windwaker HD already being a port itslelf. And what are the chances of Xenoblade Chronicles X being released the same year as Xenoblade Chronicles 1 Remaster.

I’m playing through Bloodstained at the moment. I’m liking it, but I’m practically playing this right after Hollow Knight and Ori and the Blind Forest (and DQXI), so this game looks ugly. And the slowness takes some getting used to. Feels like I’m playing though the DS Castlevanias. And those are some of my favorite games of all time so Bloodstained is not a bad game. It’s just that playing the Switch version in handheld mode just can’t reach the hype this game has generated.

Edit: Shortly after posting, I beat the final boss for Bloodstained. The game ended. But, it turns out there’s a “true” ending. I’m gonna go and start up on Ghostbusters again. I’ll get that true ending some other time.

For wii u ports epic mickey collection has been rumored (would that count as a wii u port?)

Others are wonderful 101, Mario party 9 and 10, animal crossing amiibo party, paper Mario color splash, ducktales remastered, wii party games, wii sports resort, among others.

I'm extremely skeptical about this. There's no market for an improved Switch at the current time - the CPU and GPU are just fine, with their performance limited to battery life and thermal issues more than anything else. The only way to improve this is by expanding the battery time and improving on the thermal issues - which a metal case might do if it were used for passive cooling, but it would become very warm to the touch and would be expensive to manufacture. Another way would be to improve the lithography used for the SOC, but that's a really expensive and complex business.

Also, from experience, developers are always wary in developing for or exploiting the extra hardware power. Even when it's as simple as the system on 3DS, where there was very little effort involved on the side of the developer in producing dual-target roms that would run in either normal 3DS mode or run in 3DS XL mode if the hardware was there.

I just want the opposite to the Switch lite. A stationary Switch that has no portable mode. Then I'm in.

Wonderful 101 would be awesome, that was such a weird, unique game. I agree with GameXPlain that Mario 3D World is likely. Would LOVE to see Pikmin 3. Anything Pikmin at this point would be welcome. And Zelda ports while unlikely could serve as a stopgap until the BotW sequel.

I personally am skeptical of whether they'd do Star Fox Zero, given its novel (and controversial) interface. Without the dual screen set up, they'd have to tweak it to play more like a "normal" Star Fox game in TV mode, which I'd personally love to see, even if it detracts from the novelty and uniqueness of the game. I really enjoyed the game unlike many, but it was definitely a learning curve to use, and trying to play it "normally" on the TV was impossible due to your shots not going where the reticle was. You basically had to aim with the second screen. So basically by definition they would have to change that for docked play.

Whatever the case, Wii U ports are always good in my book. So many great games that didn't get the audience they could have. They also need to pad out the 2020 lineup for Switch imo. Ports could help with that.

Right now (which is also why I expect a Direct to happen sometime soon - it's going to be really odd to go both December AND January without one - though it's still possible it won't come until February) the only first party titles slated to come out in 2020 officially are:

    • Animal Crossing
... that's literally it lol. Nothing else has dates.

Even for major AAA third party publishers (& second party games published by Nintendo,) the only games slated for 2020 definitively are:

    • Digimon Survive
    • Tokyo Mirage Sessions
    • Little Nightmares 2
    • Atelier Dusk Series Deluxe Pack
    • Darksiders Genesis
    • Devil May Cry 3
    • Billion Road
    • Langrisser I & II HD Remastered
    • Fairy Tail
    • Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition
    • Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga
    • Gods & Monsters
    • Circuit Superstars
    • Bravely Default II
    • The House of the Dead 1 & 2
    • Hatsune Miku: Project Dive Mega39's
    • Doom Eternal (and 64)
So with the exception of Digimon, Bravely, Doom, Fairy Tail, Gods & Monsters, and Lego, mostly ports of older games, remasters, and smaller games. And the majority of the above don't even have dates yet other than "2020" or a given quarter of 2020.

Meanwhile, under TBA from Nintendo we see:
    • Untitled Detective Pikachu sequel
    • Bayonetta 3
    • Untitled Breath of the Wild sequel
    • Metroid Prime 4
So we definitely are overdue for a Direct at least firming up dates for the first party titles that are TBA, or else this is going to be a sloooow year.

For the record, we have never gone without a proper Direct (one that is general, not focused on just one game) in November, December, January, and February. There's always been one, since Directs started, in at least one of those months. So I think January or February are guaranteed. Or they are struggling with release schedule issues. (Having to completely restart MP4 may have been a complicating factor?)

I'd say chances are the Direct will happen this month. Last year it was being in February was fine because we already kinda sorta had a roadmap for Nintendo releases. This year so far it's just Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Animal Crossing.

I agree. January would be best. Fingers crossed. Also I totally forgot about Tokyo Mirage Sessions, added it to my post above lol. (Which is ironic since I made it in part prompted by posts which included lots of TMS content lol. I just woke up.)

Pikmin 3 yes please. Been asking for that since Switch was launched.

Also I'm wondering about a Skyward Sword remaster. And I'd be down for HD TP and WW since I only played the original.

I mean, you can always get it and pretend it's not portable. Although the portability is great, especially when traveling.
