Maybe as an ongoing like Larry Hama G.I Joe (as far as I know, that's an ongoing).

No need to ignore, just treat it as one possible future of G1 Marvel continuity, which is what ReG1 always was, to me at least. Then just make another series that continues on from G2. Simple as that. But seing as Hasbro wanted ReG1 to be definitive end to Marvel era, I don't think we will ever see any true continuation of G2 timeline.

So my vote would be, no, don't ignore ReG1, but yes, pls continue G2.

Sure why not. Liege Maximo's never really been treated the same as he was originally in the G2 comic, going from cosmic eldritch abomination to robot Loki. It'd be nice to see the original version get more expanded on.

The question should be not about Hasbro but about IDW.

A comic not tied to a toyline probably didn't receive much of Hasbro's interest or oversight.

I think of both as possible futures to the G1 comic. Neither has the right tone to be THE continuation in my opinion, but both are enjoyable in their own right.

But sure why not continue G2. But only if we get the same overly dramatic covers. :D

I dont think ignoring Regen or not makes any difference personally.

I kind of feel like Maximo would be a refreshing take on the "cosmic enemy of Cybertron" angle that Unicron usually gets saddled with. I've been tossing such an idea around in my head as a basis for a story, that I never actually get around to writing because I prefer focusing on my own "work" (more like a bunch of loosely connected outlines, really) instead of fan fiction.

How about we drop G1/G2 altogether and try picking up on another story from another part of the franchise?

I’ve said this before here, but I want a Regeneration 2 comic book series.

    #81 - #82 : Set between G1 #80 and G2 #1
    #83 - #94 : The original G2 comics renumbered
    #95 - #100 : Set after G2 #12

It would not attempt to fit in with the Regeneration One comics timeline, and there would be no time skip or bringing back dead characters for the sake of it. It would be portrayed as an alternate timeline to Regeneration One, so history portrayed in RG1 may not be highlighted or acknowledged, but it would not be contradicted either. Some of the plot points of RG2 would focus on why an alternate timeline exists and the ramifications of how it can be used and abused by those who discover the other timelines. There could be time travellers to and from the RG2 timeline. Also, the Japanese and U.K. Generation 2 timelines would be acknowledged and likely erased from existence just to prove the power of Liege Maximo.

I think the time has passed, and if you like Simon and Geoff, there's other stuff you can get (like the very 2000AD like To The Death). If they were to do it, I like Bass' renumbering idea, but RG1 was the shot.

Wait, if they wipe out G2, don't they wipe out budding?

Okay, I say we stick with RG1.

I hope so. I hate how they reproduce through budding.

RG1 was fun and entertaining. I think I’ll reread the tpb tonight.

I’d settle for Alignment being produced as a comic

Absolutely. This is what Furman should have done to begin with.

Either a story bridging G2 and Alignment, or a story post-Alignment.

I'd settle for a reprinted G2 collection, honestly.

First I'd like IDW to continue marvel UK classics, so I can finish reading it and hopefully reprint G2 as well. I only need it digitally.

How about we restart the Sunbow Cartoon and pick up after "Rebirth"?

Sure, as long as Furman writes it.

Only if a comic book publisher has those trucks full of money that would be required for Budiansky doing it. Because I don't think he'd agree otherwise.

Honestly, Furman is guilty of three different continuations of the Marvel G1 and all of them are lacking.
