Got mine in today, and 1 small hairline crack on the top of the door hinge right out of the box.

He looks good, but I can’t help feeling a bit underwhelmed by it. Maybe it’s as I’d resigned myself to him probably being defective, but still...meh.

I'm still very curious to see how more copies recieved now-ish are fairing. Seems more people who are just now getting theirs seem ok. Not counting those who got it last week, or the week before, and just now opening it/ inspecting it, but those who actually got a newer shipment/ "batch". BW Megatron's crotch breakages and MP-44's knee failings seemed to be shorted lived, and only those who got the earliest "batches" seemed to be effected.

I'll definitely be paying attention to all those who are just now getting their first (or delayed replacement) from AJ, so please everyone continue to post your findings.

 

Really not sure what to make of the big spike, is he a more accurate scale than the smaller one that came with prime and bee? Works with hound obviously, but with some of the mp's in car mode, he seems a bit giant. Also, he seems to be in scale with exosuit daniel, maybe?

Thought's on Hound himself, really like hound in both Vehicle and Robot mode, but I don't like the process of getting their, not a fan of these more complex transformations like with Prime v2, I hope MP Raiden and other future MP's aren't mired by it or the excessive usage of paint, I wonder if with Hound they were trying to emulate the paint used on real world arm jeeps. Also, he can't hold his Jeep gun in robot mode, or use his shoulder rocket in Jeep mode, c'mon Takara, it's still a toy and that'd be extra play value, but I guess since he never did either in the cartoon, it'd be foolish to expect otherwise.

 

Has anyone had cracks *develop* over time? Eg, there were no cracks out of the box, but there were later?

just wondering if this is a thing where I still need to be concerned even if mine is mostly crack-free, or if the bad-QC copies are all coming that way.

 

Part of why I think they waited to send these replacements out.

You might want to avoid as much resistance as possible in some of those trouble spots, like trimming down some of the leg panel so it doesn't run into the other panel. On my original one I trimmed some of the edge the door has to go pass. Mines was getting resistance when I tried to open up, I trimmed that little bit of extra to make it so the doors opened with no resistance.

 

Just got mine in. The box is a lot smaller than I thought.

 

I'd really like to know this as well. I know there have been a handful of "discovered after the first transformation" or "heard about the issues, and then looked to find one". However, those could have existed prior, and just not been seen. But can anyone definitely confirm they developed from use in hand?

The back of the knee, and "doors" seem the most common. I've checked mine everyday, and after every transformation. Nothing yet. I even spent about 10 mins repeatedly opening and closing the leg panels last night, with normal force, to see it anything would happen. Still nothing.

 

SO. Looking at the pics in which TT revealed Hound's rifle I noticed it has an extra hinge. Wonder if this will allow it to somehow replace the rear cannon?

 

Oh that's interesting that they showed him with the g1 gun since he doesn't have that in the final release, Detritus here we come.

My two are from different batches. My first was one of the earliest from Amazon, K0519 on the box, and so far is perfect. My second came last week from Kapow, J1719 on the box, and had a partial hairline crack on one of the door hinges, which fortunately has not worsened with transformation so far. The numbers seem to indicate that the Kapow one is from a later batch that is no better than the earlier one.

 

What are the date stamps on the figures themselves?
