I swear, if the rubber parts start melting paint on this guy I am going to be so mad. He looks great.

    >Leader
    >noticably shorter than a Voyager

He looks amazing, and that alt mode is nuts in all the right ways, but ...man, I gotta wait for a sale price on this guy. I can't justify $50.

Understandable. The accessories just don't add any value like the Siege version does.
Still, I love the character and enjoy the figure so much that I can justify the price.
Buying a second one as well, so yeah...

Do you feel that the arm cannon being humongous adds enough value to justify?

The hand, blade, hose, and cannon barrel are all soft rubber material. Here's to hoping for a DNA design upgrade for all those parts minus the hose of course.

Oh, I have no issue with the price, but I can understand the frustration with it. The cannon being gigantic is part of the design, so I really don't see that as an added feature.

The toe spikes are also rubber.
To replace these pieces would require pin-popping, so an "upgrade" would need to take that into account unless they do all new body parts which aren't necessary.
Really, the only rubber parts that annoy me are the blade and hand. The rest aren't even noticable.

Good to know (also about the rubber parts). I wonder if it would have felt better if there had been more than one NEST guy? Like a couple ground troops or that guy that hit Shockwave with the bazooka would have been cool.

Yeah I would get rid of the para trooper all together. It's not convenient to display at all. I couldn't care less for those kinds of accessories, but a guy on the ground shooting a bazooka (maybe with some flame effects) would be better for sure.

But the paratrooper is to redo the scene where the chute covers his face..so its kinda a cool scene accessory, if the solder were molded for that better

I would like to get Shockwave soon. Just hard to find one store that has both him and Scavenger in stock at the same time.

True, I just don't see how it is really feasible to reenact it or display it without extensive support pieces. Not for me. But to each there own :)

    Mine just shipped!
    Edit: He just arrived.
Hes fantastic despite some of the soft plastic. That said, he is just an overpriced voyager. He scales at the same size as SS voyager Starscream and 07 Megatron. The "accessories" are not enough to justify the leader tag.
    Hes still worth it regardless.

I had to cancel my order for this at hasbro pulse. I don't see myself preordering with them again anytime soon. It's ten days over the release date and they haven't shipped my shockwave OR my scavenger yet, but they shipped the two other items in my order a week ago. Plus, this ridiculous thing they do with shipping each individual item in its own box with its own tracking is beyond me. Do they not know larger boxes exist?

I hate to say it, but the rubber parts are a serious detriment to this figure. Something in the right foot is deformed just enough to make it near impossible to log the leg in place in tank mode on mine, as the heel spur won't swing back far enough to provide the needed clearance (not that I see the figure spending much time there, but still..). The "blade" is so warped it looks like a pteranadon with a broken nose... maybe it's supposed to be a trophy from when swo..strafe had 3 heads.

The add-ons are a total waste of sculpting and moldmaking resources. I don't see why anyone approved adding them in except some bean counter said if we spend X on junk, we'll potentially make more selling at a higher price point. No designer said this would be a great idea.

The figure looks good, but I'm in agreement with hoping for a third party grimlock style update to wholesale replace 1/3 of it. Shockwave deserves better.

Overall I like this buy, but as cylence said above, the rubber parts are pretty weak. My copy's arm blade was pretty warped out of the package, but it straightened out with some hairdryer treatment. The tube dragging in vehicle mode is also not so great.

I actually like the tiny Brains and Wheelie and even the paratrooper to drape on his head lol.

His transformation seemed so familiar and then it hit me--it is pretty much exactly the same as the leader class RotF Megatron from '09.

But yeah, robot mode and the deco just make this guy look imposing and awesome.

You can avoid the hose dragging by disconnecting it, transforming the legs and plugging it back in through the gap under the cannon arm.

I never have an issue with shared parts/engineering, but I do find it humorous that the treads on the back of the legs are exactly those from the SS RotF Megatron, even with the pins for spreading them out.

I wonder how easy it would be for a 3rd party to do a replacement kit for all the rubber pieces (besides the hose) with hard plastic. I believe some have said that some of these pieces are connected by pins? Would love for this hypothetical kit to include new hip pieces too, to remove the one inaccuracy that's carried over from Megatron (the treads can stay).

Lol, the arm blade is made out of the rubberiest rubber ever.
    It barely stays attached.
The pieces on the back of his feet are pretty annoying as well.

I noticed the back of his shins is directly lifted from RotF Megatron’s feet.
They look like they can still be split apart, but the assembly doesn’t allow for it on this figure.
    Such an odd reuse lol
