In Demand Toys usually does a neat job. Truly botched shippings include a) items lost, b) items missing, c) some Japanese exclusive/lucky draw's package getting damaged. If you were going to open those three anyway, I would not spend a single eyebrow on this.

Ooof. I have (finally) finished hand cutting the V2 card sleeves. I really have to sort out a mechanical solution.

This does mean that everything is ready! I am in the process of packing everything so (hopefully) calendars and cards will all be out on... Tuesday? Maybe even Monday if the Gods are kind?

Cheers man. She's grand. Although she's been asleep on me for the last hour and a half snoring her head off. Perfect time to watch coloumbo!

Kapow dispatched apeface before Xmas. I would think the other guys would have stock soon?

Mine came in the same pack. Nothing damaged either. I'd let it lie, but maybe drop them a note next time you order something your worried about packaging and ask them to take special care.

One time recently a UK online retailer used pages of the Daily sport when packing a figure. I thought it was funny, but if it had been a package intended for a kid, that might have caused issues.

If you're a MISB collector always stress that durung purchase and ask for a box and offer to pay a tiny bit more for shipping. Especially with mainline carded figs. Most will accommodate. This isn't Star Wars and the presumption isn't MISB collectors all the time. We actually like what we collect and watch.

If you're only going to open them then you're the only one blocking your own enjoyment right now.

I've had worse from ID Toys. (TR Cosmos with a huge rip in the backing card. That wouldn't have been done in transit.) I think they have a disclaimer on their site about packaging may not be mint and they won't do anything about it (words to that effect), so I don't use them for anything with packaging I want to keep. It does seem like they are taking the choice of keeping your purchases MIB/MOC away from you though.

Can I pick the minds of my fellow UK collectors please?

My brother is in Japan and says he can get a Masterpiece Bumblebee Version 2 (MP-45) for £70. Is that a good price?

    @MyTea Boc,
Glad it was just a false alarm with the Minibot and all due credit to the NHS staff for doing their best for you!

Were it up to me they'd be getting paid the sort of cash that footballers get because they do far more important things than kicking a bag of air about.

On the subject of football I noticed before yesterday's FA Cup games that the increasingly tokenistic mentions of "mental health" in the media like it's cause of the week delayed kickoff times by a minute...which I didn't have a problem with as delaying watching the present United team play is never a bad thing but I find most of the current attempts at raising awareness to be lacking in sincerity, largely because it seems to emanate from celebrities trying to get attention for themselves over actually wanting to do some good.

It's one thing to get more people talking about it but it's a far more complex situation than reducing everything to a two word soundbite would suggest.

    Anyway, back to toys,

    @Napalm,
Nice pic of the IF Battlechargers, I'm still not ruling them out entirely but may wait and see if Newage or Magic Square do a set that's got the original G1 alt modes.

I recieved an invoice from Comics & Cocktails for my Marvel Legends X-Men 3-pack with Wolverine, Cyclops and Jean Grey so I should have 2 tiger stripe Wolverine's very close together as the MAFEX one is also imminent.

The next Transformer I'll be ordering is IF Cliffjumper and I think MFT Hardhead's also out as well.

Here's what's currently living on my PC tower,

@MyTea Boc Glad to hear it was just the Mini-Boc testing the Emergency Reaction Contingency System!
I continue to vacillate over picking up Rung right now, seeing as he's getting a repack in Earthrise AND I already have a Homebrew Singe.

Are you sure you want to ever be in physical proximity of MP-45? Didn't pictures hurt enough?

    T

    Thanks

Hi, newish to the board so missed this when it was available with the calendar. Do you have anymore Tech Specs for sale? How much as well?

You not a big fan of it? I thought it looked alright, maybe didn’t look close enough. Will be interested to hear your opinion.

So good to start with a Metroid Zero Mission run.
Only re-enforce the desire to get a Game Boy Advance collection series for Switch or hell, a GBA mini.
Waaaay more urgent that a N64 one. This catalog is crazy.

Think that's slightly below retail. If you're a fan of the figure that's definitely a good price.

Seen some Micromasters once in Forbidden Planet Belfast and that's been it. They've never been in any NI Smyths I've been in, and Belfast Entertainer had one Starscream once and that's been it.

As far as I'm concerned those bad boys aren't cheap and that doesn't matter anyway; you have every right to expect them to arrive in good condition because that's what you paid for. Plus

    They're designed for adult collectors.

What if they'd been a gift purchase?

It creates far too many opportunities for refunds/replacements/recriminations and other things that begin with R...

Amazon US are the absolute worst for sending items of every description out in jiffy bags, and I always pull them on it. I don't personally give a fiddlers about the packaging, but they're not treating me like crap either. The amount of 'free' figures I've gotten as a result...

They sent my Siege Apeface in one of those white bags with the blue lettering plastered all over it and I was horrified after seeing how some others received theirs. Mine arrived pretty much as if it had been sat on a shelf in a shop for weeks. You couldn’t even tell who the character inside was in one particular case, may as well have been Bionicle pieces tossed into a box.

I tend to avoid Amazon US for anything smaller than the 2019/2020 leader class scale if I can help it.

I’ve been wary of Amazon all together these past few months actually as I’ve had independent couriers try their luck at getting my stuff for themselves. Ironically I caught them on video using my new ring doorbell that I ordered from Amazon! :D

I deliberately order from Amazon UK/US for some of those reasons; "What's the point of me sending this back, I shouldn't have been sent it in the first place! This is a DISGRACE!" etc. I have their email address too because right around the time they started shipping out previous returns like nobody would notice (even had a duvet covered in dog hair arrive)*, they took away the obvious ability to email them but you still can. I have their contempt for me as a customer cost them all the time, frankly.

    * They tried it with the record and steelbook communities; you can imagine how that went!
