Come on SS bee has nothing over MP one. People seriously overrate studio series.

Is the new 2007 Camaro SS Bee less fiddly than SS01 and WW2 Bee? Really hoping so.

I don’t think Studio Series is overrated on the whole but certain figures can be. Most specifically the new 07 Bee and 07 Megatron, although they’re overrated in the comparison to the MPM figures.

Personally I think it's really a case by case basis when it comes to comparing Studio Series with MPMs. But in general, I don't think it's a fair comparison considering they're both different lines operating under different budgets, timelines, and restraints. Of course, that's not a fixed rule, but hey ho

For example, I would say that MPM03 Bumblebee is better than any other Movie Bumblebee figure we've ever gotten, Studio Series included. But he also costs 4-5 times more than most Movie Bumblebee figures. He's got an obvious advantage, and it shows to his benefit

But I think the opposite can be true too. From what I've heard and observed, SS14 Ironhide looks and handles a lot better than MPM06 Ironhide, despite costing 4-5 times less

So who's to say really? The fun thing about all these toys is that it's all subjective, and there's plenty to choose from to appease almost everyone

Finding it a bit ridiculous how people compare mpm to SS.... I love SS but mpm is mpm for a reason.

Comparing Studio Series to MPM is comparing an apple to a very different orange.

Studio Series, does better in what it sets out to do; be a movie-accurate mainline(aside from the Bumblebee movie) which has figures largely in-scale to one another in robot mode. It does suffer from starting with small deluxes and scaling up from there as some of the figures compromise solidity for the sake of scaling.

MPM is supposed to be the cream of the crop, line of the best official transforming movie figures made. Where it drops the ball is in accuracy to an extent(Camaro Bee based on a different model than the film) and questionable quality control. I learned this 1st hand going through 3 copies of MPM-04, the 1st 2 were flawed with the 2nd one having absolutely atrocious assembly issues, I could tell the factory worker just said "fuck it" and halfassedly assembled my copy(which thereby stressed the screw housing and ended up stripping the thread among other things). The MPM has so much freaking untapped potential shot down by bad decisions that really left me questioning how much senior designer input was given, as all of them had things that definitely didn't seem like design decisions Takara normally makes(I have G1 and BW MP's). This might seem like I'm downing the line but I'm not! It's not the line it could be and that's sad to me. Especially because I like MPM-04 a lot! To me it's an underrated design. However I just do not understand why it doesn't clip together more securely in truck mode(without mods) and even if you mod it, all previous movie Primes are able to tab securely in truck mode!

This is why though I'd be happy to get MPM Ratchet and Starscream, I'm being cautiously optimistic about how they'll turn out. I'd really hate to see my boy Starscream shot down by some no brainer stuff like soft ratchets(the hell is that even a thing now?!).

I was just sharing pics of my favorite Bee design, I didn't mean to start an argument. I like both the figures very much.

You're good man. I actually like both too but wish the SS version used black or dark grey just like the MPM.

I agree. But they shouldn’t even be compared. Studio series are more of an accurate toy compared to mpm which are primarily collectors items. Not to say you can’t play with a mpm or collect ss. But overall I agree mpm look significantly better than the ss counterpart. But often times have a lesser play value. Good example is ironhide, whereas the mpm looks like it jumped off the screen but isn’t the best to transform or play with, the ss is the better figure to play with but not as good looking.

Fairly, the MPM03 was made without the help of any CAD file from the movie. (same goes to prime)

Scavenger finally came in! I was never a big fan of his or Demolishers design, In terms of Robot mode I much prefer my fan mode. 20200104_191810.jpg 20200104_192521.jpg 20200104_194633.jpg

But in exchange we have Sentinel Prime who I'm sure more people me included want than another SS-32 :lol

As for the three Deluxes I have some predictions:
    1. A Wrecker (Topspin/Leadfoot), the one that doesn't get made this year will be done next year.
    2. A BB Transformer, most likely an Autobot. I'm putting money on Camaro Bee or one of the Cybertronian Autobots.
    3. Since @lonewolf96 mentioned there being a repaint/retool, that opens several possible options from SS and TLK. Who could possibly be in need of a repaint? Berserker as Crankcase, Drift as TLK Drift chest retool and all, DOTM Sideswipe as ROTF Sideswipe, or anybody else?
