On a more positive note: I’ve figured out that if I push on the helmet a little bit I can get it to close more tightly around his face. The difference is subtle and hard to see in pics, but it’s quite noticeable in person. (In the pics, look at the change in the gap between the top of his face and the green helmet.)

The way I did it was by holding the head with my first finger and thumb, pushing up against the base of the skull with my first finger, and back against the forehead with my thumb; give the head a little squeeze. Doing that, I was able to get the head hinge to close a bit more than when I was just pressing down on the top of the head. Nice.

It's long overdue that people start holding TT accountable. I hope those that have bad copies flood TT's inbox or at the very least write out negative reviews at AJ.

And please stop getting excited over any TT's MP reveal from this point on and not click on "pre-order". ALWAYS expect the worse from this company.

minus a small tab on the foot, the one that connects the door to the seat, breaking off on step 1 of the damn transformation, everything else looks good. (fingers crossed). I am really afraid of attempting to transform him back to jeep mode so I think in robot mode he will stay. not cool at all takara, when we spend money, regardless of people having extra cash or not, people's money is people's money and some people need to save a good long while to afford things like mp's and then this stuff happens... prime's legs', mp v2 bb's... everything about that little guy and now hound, just leaves such a bad taste and a big FU from takara on our face. I was looking forward to mp 50 and beyond but now I really don't know.

So I’ve gone from Jeep full cycle and back to bot (so 3 transformations) and still no cracks that I can see BUT as I said I don’t think I can expect to use the belt key hook without it tearing off.

    Anyone else have that issue?

Also, in all fairness, I’m coming around to this guy. Or I would be if I wasn’t so afraid he would snap if I made a wrong move.

I transformed mine last night. Despite having a paint issue with the hood of the jeep everything else seems perfect so far. I initially had the spare wheel, missile, and gas tank in the feet but decided to take them out after the transformation was complete. I was afraid they were causing to much internal pressure inside those feet.

If anyone with a broken figure struggles to get a refund there may be some options for splitting the figure apart (even just taking out screws rather than pins).

For someone like me who has a near perfect figure there is the temptation to just try to source a specific part...

What I'm trying to say is that I may be after a left leg at some point.

Got mine in. No issues with my copy, but plastic feels unquestionably weak compared to almost everything else in my collection. No cracks or stress marks, though. I could be wrong, but I don't think there's a single piece of diecast to be found on the entire figure. Just like MP-44, the price for what you're getting is pretty hard to swallow... but man, does he look nice.

Wanted to quickly chime back in. I transformed my Hound about 5 hours after getting him from AJP and did not have any issues at the time. I kept coming back to this thread to check in and saw more and more reports on breakages. I finally got a chance to pick him back up due to the busy holidays and can report mine is still in decent shape despite feeling like a Star Wars Bandai model kit when I pick it up (light and fragile). Mine is stored in temperature and light controlled room 24/7 so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it...but should it?

I'm very concerned about flipping this guy back and forth though. I may end up picking up a Willis if it ever drops in price to mess with. I had one years ago, but sold it when I had thought it was time to move on from TFs...just to come back again and again!

Still, I think this may be the best looking TF I own right now (don't have MP-44...yet). It looks more like an action figure than a transformer and that's super impressive work from TT. I just wish it felt a little more substantial and durable.

Temperature, moisture and light can all affect plastics negatively. Storing them in a temperature and humidity controlled atmosphere away from natural and fluorescent light is your best bet!

Harder plastics like ABS will react to temperature but only in the extremes, so unless you live near the Arctic or near a volcano, you should be fine. PVC is more prone to reacting to temperature changes but I don't think the green pieces broken so far, are made of PVC.

Takara doesn't normally use polystyrene(PS) for their Transformers but given that people are saying the green plastic feels light...maybe it is? Either that or light ABS. Polystyrene construction would explain the breakages though.
