I have received mine from this seller. Has he shipped yours? He has delisted his listing, meaning he has sold out.

(It doesn't mean he has oversold.)

Your current predicament is due to unfamiliarity. You won't have the same issue next time. Since you know the seller can't adjust the price, use the substitution method instead.

If you can't get back that extra 70 yuan, just treat it as 'tuition fees'. I've paid quite a bit in my early days, mostly shipping related. :)

Thank you. I ordered from 变形玩具 第三方 FT-30C Goose大无畏第二弹飞行成员俯冲现货-淘宝网. Ended up being $87.70 before international shipping vs. $98.14 before intl shipping from Bibic.

I appreciate the sentiment, but I've bought from Taobao 4 times before, including from Bibic with a pre-order and then pre-order fulfillment for FT Spoiler. (I know 4 orders is nothing compared to many around here.) Still, no problems at all from Bibic on Spoiler. This has been a rather poor experience from him. If it wasn't for the 3 other items I have on pre-ordered with Bibic, I don't think I buy from him again. Yes, true I haven't personally done the substitution method or had to request a separate listing, but I have had other sellers provide a link to a one Yuan item that I buy 400-500 of (whatever the item price is) to complete a sale. So working with a seller to find a solution isn't a totally new process to me.

At the moment, the sales tax thing is the issue for me using Taobao in the future. If it pencils out as a big savings, fine, go with Taobao. If it's remotely close to Baba or ShowZ, I'll likely go with them. (Went with Baba on Sheridan and Hunk.)

    Where are you located, again?

For Singapore it's 1 RMB per order/day past the free duration as stated in the price chart

@nhyone Not sure if you are still looking, but I think this is the seller you were asking about: 首页-爱当家玩具星-淘宝网

Came across this seller a few times before. Almost wanted to buy from him too, as his prices were not bad, but didn't in the end.

This is my take as well. My TB orders were on average 13-15% cheaper than the competitors you mentioned. Usually, that was on the basis of one or two items in a larger lot having steep closeout discounts that offset everything else. I feel there's a lot of time and risk involved in getting that 15%.

Suddenly, the law changes and the state of Texas gets 8.5 of that 15%. No longer worthwhile for me, personally. I still look for deep-discounted items on TB on occasion, but now my business goes more or less exclusively to the big three China-based sellers directly via their websites.

Does the US warehouse check the content in the package compared to the listing? Am trying to order some ironfactory stuff to save some taxes on Fanshobby Godbomber.

I tried once before when there is "transformer" in the listing which prevents me from buying, so I order something completely different and it was OK but it was a long time ago.

Yep, that's the one, Never used him before and won't bother to ever again.
For me, the seller I seem to buy from most is 银河之力动漫模玩 . He can be a little more expensive than some others, and he doesn't really seem to do pre-orders. But he generally still has stock available long after everyone else has sold out. And his service is exceptional, he speaks some English, and is always prompt and friendly.
Thor and Little Bee are also great but they sell out quick - thy seem to be more focussed on getting those pre-order sales.
Incidentally, has anyone else noticed changes to some translated store names? I'm not sure if the name itself has changed, or maybe Google has tweaked their translation or something but the above store used to be translated as "Galaxy Power Animation Play" and is now "Galactic Force Anime Model Play". I've noticed a few others which have changed, Threw me when I noticed it because it changed all the old listings in my order history as well. I'm assuming it's just a tweak to Google Translate?

Bibic accpeted my refund, so it looks like this headach is over. I'm SOL on my pre-order deposit, but I was SOL before, so oh well. And the other seller I bought from shipped within 1 day, so that's a great sign that this getting the Goose process is going to be done soon.

Wonder what'll happen with my other pre-orders with Bibic. I'm 1 and 1 with him. We'll see...

Only the third link is somewhat competitive (559 yuan + 12 yuan local shipping). I found two sellers at 549 yuan including local shipping.

Just search by "fanstoys ft-30c" and sort by price.

Thor Toys charged 520 yuan in total. Has anyone gotten a better price than that?

(The small difference between pre-order price and regular price tells us that FT-30C did not sell out.)

I ordered from the third link and also got a 20 yuan discount from New Years. Happy considering the headache with getting Goose I've had.

What @zin means is that it seems there is NO tax applied to your ym hotshot order and that's the difference between an order with and without taxes since the seller CANNOT change the price to an order where tax is applied. It seems really stupid but it is the case on Taobao.

Look like FT Stunticons are more popular than FT Aerialbots as I can't find Spoiler with close-to-preorder price.

Maybe people already knew this but no tax payable on postage. Well, that's one saving grace. 10% tax on the purchase and postage would be a real killer. I can't quite recall but I think eBay here in Australia charges GST on postage.

EBay shouldn’t but the general consensus is that they do. GST is only applicable to domestic postage, because the fee is being paid to Australia Post or a local courier. International postage charges are being paid to an international company, and as such is not an Australian service. The only place where it would get murky is if the package is transferred to a local shipper in Australia.
Of course, there’s a big difference between what should be done and what is done. One of the many flaws of imposing a local domestic tax on foreign organisations. I’m pretty sure any foreign company collecting GST is pocketing at least som of the proceeds and only chucking a stipend to the Aus gov’t. Most see it as a nice little gratuity.

Just purchased a cell-shaded MP-36 Ko from a TB seller I’ve never used before. He had “megatron” in the listing title so TaoBao blocked it. Asked him and he almost immediately sent me a link to a different Dragon Ball item that wasn’t blocked. Bought three, he adjusted the price for me and is shipping it out this afternoon. He was super helpful and willing to adapt. It’s nice to know that plenty of sellers out there are honest. I frankly trust the sellers on TaoBao way more than the guys on eBay.
