I was going to post that the Navy care package set was up on Amazon for retail but it has since gone back to scalper rates.
Yeah I've been seeing those at Ross too. I keep passing on them. By the time I shrug my way into might-as-welling it on this one they'll probably be sold out.
Found one in the very back of a ton of Marine Defenses and the other two on the top shelf away from the shelf space at DG.
So, this is the new Skirmisher.... As you can see, it's new head mold is huge. It dwarfs a Spartans... It is definitely more detailed than a Standard H4 Jackal head... but comparatively speaking, the SA Jackal head mold is either dead on a copy or very similar to the old Jackal head mold... Which makes me wonder why they felt the need to redo this mold. The old Skirmisher head is less detailed.... but lines up in size much better to everyone else... I think they really missed the mark on this new mold. It's detail is top notch, but the size of it just looks ridiculous. So for now, I think the old Skirmisher head is much better on the new SA body... I'm fairly dissapointed in this but to each their own.
Strangely enough (to me), they use a Marine/ODST Torso for it... While using the Flame Marine / Spartan Hunter Pauldrons... Which do the job of mimicking the original old Pauldrons... One thing I noticed on the old ones is that they are slightly raised relative to the shoulder... So I flipped them around to give it a different look, though it might be better just to raise them up a little right side up...
Anothing thing that might look okay is taking Stratos' feather attachments and putting them on / painting them to simulate the Originals feathered forarms...
Follow up I have to say the old Skirmishers look like skirmishers, where these new ones just look like marines with elite legs and a big red haired head. It's a shame the molds on the non SA are actually better in the legs than the SA. The old non sa heads are roughly the same size when taking into account the feathers, but the beak/forehead of the new one is just abnormally big. It's weird to me they make the brute/elite heads so small (for helmets) but then go this route for the skirmishers. Must not be planning any helmet or eye pieces for the higher ranking ones. Wonder if they're planning a new head mold for the Jackals (pre h4 / post h4). Sorry for writing so much on this one figure but it's just really disappointing to see a new figure style go so wrong (imo). For everyone else, you guys might love this thing, and that's for the better since it means they'll sell them.
Good to know they are getting bigger sets in. Still a little more than I'm willing to pay but still cool

I know in the past 2 years they had tons of 60's Star Trek, Call of Duty, and all sorts of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets (Michael Bay movies, 2012 TV show, black & white comic books, half-shell heroes preschool). So far 2 board members have told me they only saw the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Black & White Comic Book Rooftop Combat a.k.a. "Chet's Toys" construction set at their stores.
Almost done with the giant dragon. Need to finish the last wing. Just need the spines and cloth. Nice challenging build.
I'm really glad they're redoing the earlier Pokemon that they made because new Abra is much better than the old one. I can respect the "clever" part reuse for the older one's feet, but it just... didn't work. I also like the poseable tail! That being said, I think I'm gonna swap the faces, as the face on my newer one is a bit higher up than I'd like (I'd also still like the head to be a bit more triangular but whatevs). I also got Riolu and it's... eh? I wish it at least had some knees, what with it being a Fighting type and all, and I feel like they didn't quite get how the mask is supposed to work as the sides just look weird like that.
