Thanks guys! I already thought about posing it like that since when VF1s got annoucned and just used a little bit of my imagination. Happy new year everyone!!
As a parting shot to the year, I thought I'd transform some of my valks. My Yamato VF19 Kai [[arguably my most transformed-with valk] holds together relatively well. Leg joints are a tad loose [my VF19S is looser]. IMO the biggest issue is that the glossy plastic is just a magnet of dirt/speck that if not treated often just sticks to the plastic. Every once in a while I have to properly invest time with warm water and a tiny bit of soap/disinfectant to clean this and the 19S. My Bandai VF31...F? Messer's model. My second most transformed-with valk. Sadly it has started properly showing its age. I had it since release [first Messer edition, not the latest Hayate release]. Swing joints [black in Messer's valk] that move his arms from the wings to the main body are loose to the point of flopping around. Backpack [where his music speaker/gunpod rests on] hinge flops back. Ratcheted hip joints have got play between them. Nothing lasts forever, but the Yamato valkyrie is at least 6 years older than Messer's and has been handled more and holds up better. It will take breakages to see the 31s reach the 25 issues, but looser joints are sadly commonplace with bandai valkyries. It sometimes just takes a bit longer. My 31S Arad spends most of its time in fighter mode with the armour pack on, and the 31A Kairos has not been transformed in over...1/2 years [? whenever it was released]. I don't think they'll see much more play from me. I have been very careful in not leaving the 31S in battroid with the armour on for too long as not to weigh down its joints. Are the Hi-metal ones any more..."durable" as a line, as a whole? I may look into them a bit more closely if so... EDIT: My 1/48 Max has developed some every so slight looseness, but nothing that prevents it from holding any pose.
My DX 31 Chuck had looser torso swing bars. The legs started to loosen right after I started posing it out of box. My DX VF-1A Mad is still tight aside from where the grey clip plugs in behind the nose in battroid mode, that part now comes undone very easily whereas it was the tightest of my 3 DX VF-1's out of the box(required some force to detach before actually!). HI METAL R have less instances of going loose and less reports of breakages(there's a few but not widespread). The hip ball joints on my Nexx VF-2SS are looser than I'd like. All ball joints are fine on my VF-1's...possibly due to plastic ball/sockets for the hips, never seen those go loose on my HI METAL R VF-1's. VF-4 hips are still sufficiently snug but I'll let you know if they loosen over time. So far, so good. I do find the HI METAL R VF-1 transformation to be more pleasant than the Yamato 1/60 V2 VF-1 as well(aside from heat shield/canopy swapping), since it's very straight forward, in a way, moreso than the DX. The good thing about the HI METAL R line is balance for the toys themselves, since most joints don't weigh enough to loosen joints(and on my Nexx I think I can tighten the hip joints with Liquitex finish). Also I do prefer handling my HI METAL R VF-4 compared to my Arcadia VF-4. It's fun to pose and transform, possibly my favorite HI METAL R Valkyrie.
Thanks to our boy Peaugh for the hookup! Haven't transformed it yet, I'm honestly a little scared to...
Yeah I was watching scorched earth's video and still got hung up when it came time to insert the backpack into the nose and peg the waist together in gerwalk mode, turns out I'd had a couple things misaligned when i had deployed the hips
Will Hikaru's DX 1j increase/decrease when the supposed DX GBP Armour Parts gets announced? Any add on parts usually increase the price of the base valk.
Increase if they only release the GBP parts. Probably remain the same if they release it as a bundle.
If Bandai decides to... The only DX valk and Super Set combo announced so far is YF-29 Alto with the Supers and to be released in May of this year (hopefully).
I'm hoping they'll re-release it to coincide with the GBP armor since, a bit off topic, they did re-release D.C. Getter 1 to coincide with D.C. Getter 2 and 3. Granted the GBP armor will most likely be P-Bandai while D.C. Getters were all retail release so if the GBP is P-Bandai they could just release the armor by itself. In the end its just wishful thinking on my part since it helps people get a second chance on the 1J.
Unless they make more DX VF-1Js, the GBP will drive up the demand. It would make sense that would make the J more expensive, as a result. If I was Bandai, I would release a "regular" J right before I released the GBP, or even, simultaneously.
Well I thought they were supposed to do that anyway. A regular release without the special slip cover and flight stand.
It was implied by the “Limited Edition” or “Initial Release Bonus” found in the description, but I don’t think they ever announced there being a follow up production.
