Those exclusives you’re asking about are the promoted raids, Max Raid Battles which can include specific Gigantamax Pokémon in the common red beams instead of the usual 1% encounter rate. You’re not through enough gyms to encounter raids with enough stars to include those. However, all of them are encounterable (at the usual low rates) in standard locations... except Snorlax. This is so far the only means to get a Gigantamax Snorlax, as it’s not a normal gameplay encounter. I think Snorlax’s promotion ends on the 15th, not as early as Butterfree and the others. You could always trade for a spare if you don’t get far enough in the game in time.

    That makes sense, thanks.
I guess I don’t need to worry about it too much then, since it apparently isn’t necessary to complete the Galar Pokédex (well, unless I want every single form, I guess :) )

There is also a Meowth that you can only get through Mystery Gift up until January 15th. All you have to do to get it is access Mystery Gift, and select the Get via Internet option. This Meowth will not be able to evolve, but is the only Meowth you can get that has a Gigantamax form.

Out of curiosity. To those that still play Pokemon Go. Do you guys have any rules when it comes to shiny pokemon and/or evolving them? I'm very loose with mine, but you'll see why.

General Rule: I won't evolve it until I have multiples so I have one of each evolutionary stage.
Exception: If I hate the unevolved colors but love the evolved ones, THEN I'll evolve it before getting the full line.

I only bring this up because even outside the community day shinies i got, I notice I rarely evolve them otherwise. So am I just weird with this stuff or is it kind of normal?

    * = Just realizing all my shiny hunting luck must be in Go instead of the mainline games as of late....

When I read this, my first thought was, how the hell did you get a Jolteon already?!?

Then I remembered I hadn't tried Max Raid Battles yet...I'm guessing that's how you got one? I looked on Bulbapedia but the list of potential MRB spawns is huge and I didn't see a Jolteon.
Did a couple and they're pretty fun, got Natu and Axew so far. The CPU trainers are pretty much useless, though. Maybe I should try it with actual people ;)

Eevee can actually be found as early as Route 4 in the game (more commonly in Shield, where as Pickachu is more common to find in Sword) and there is a Thunder Stone that can be found in the North Lake Miloch part of the Wild Area that you can obtain as soon as you get to the Wild Area... So yeah, you can get a Jolteon before even taking on the first Gym.

Neat. I guess I'll have to hang around Route 4 a little more.

BTW, is there any way to change the weather in the Wild Area? I went back there to catch a couple things, and the weather wouldn't cooperate. Maybe I just need to leave the area and reenter.

Just in case you guys weren't aware, there is another wild area event right now with magikarp being more common AND higher chances of being shiny. I already got one!

Ya as said above, the wild area changes daily, so if its weather specific you're going to have to keep coming back to check the wild area.

I used Roserade in my Diamond playthrough myself as well as Drapion in one of my playthroughs of Platinum, Tentacruel in Omega Ruby and Alolan Muk in Ultra Sun and Venusaur in Let's Go Eevee and Roserade again in Sword just recently. (Got the game with a little help from my Wal-Mart gift card and finally got the Nintendo Switch Lite and Pokemon Sword for Christmas.) I'm also planning to use Nidoking and Vileplume as two of my team members for Let's Go Pikachu once I eventually get a hold of that game. For those that are interested, my team in Let's Go Eevee are Eevee, Onix, Venusaur, Ninetales, Hitmonchan, and Starmie and my team in Pokemon Sword are Cinderace, Corviknight, Drednaw, Boltund, Roserade, and Hatterene.

I'd be happy to. I'm going to need some help to complete the Pokedex anyway :D
I could trade you a Machoke, that way I could get one to evolve too.
I'm not sure exactly how to go about it though   I only enabled the game's online capability yesterday.

Yeah, you need to trade a Haunter to evolve it to Gengar. There is also a Gengar walking around in the Giant's Cap part of the Wild Area.

Caught and G-max Snorlax and Butterfree. Makes it 11 and 7 respectfully.

I was able to get the shiny Magikarp event in the dynamax battle in the wild area. It is possible to get another shiny Magikarp in another dynamax battle right? What are the chances of it appearing?

According to the encounter table I’ve seen on Serebii, normal Magikarp appears at a rate of 52% in promoted dens and shiny Magikarp in 8%. They’re definitely not one-off encounters, in case you need multiples. Promoted Magikarp in general is also useful to get tons of Nuggets in case your Pokémoney is low.
