I found one at Walmart during the 15 minutes they had the marked down to $45. It's a good toy.

I didn't realize or forgot that I haven't written a full review yet for Siege Jetfire. D'oooh! o_O
    Had him since July.

Being the new Commander class, he's the biggest official Jetfire that we've gotten yet.

I love that he looks like cartoon Skyfire, but you can armor him up into a "super-mode" that looks more like the recolored Macross G1 toy that Hasbro licensed from Takatoku before they were bought out by Bandai.

I'll just come right out and say it - this is my favorite Siege figure, hands down, no further questions, and probably my favorite standalone (non-combiner) Generations figure of all. :rock

He's the Skyfire figure that we all wanted while watching Seasons One and Two of the G1 show. I love aircraft Transformers, especially flying Autobots, so Siege Jetfire hits all the right notes. He's got great articulation, with even limited waist swivel, which I don't think any G1-based Jetfire figure has had in all of the 35+ year history of the brand. The mechanism that folds away the 5-mm slot into his palms so he can open his hands is nothing short of brilliant.

A Prime or Titanmaster can also store in the cockpit in his boosters when he's in robot mode.

I also love his fireblasts. Some will say that there are two blast effect pieces, but there are really six. They can stack on each other to make a really BIG BLOOOOSH!!! (like Emgo316 says!) It's perfect for his afterburners when taking off or accelerating.

No figure is perfect, and my issues are that you can't attach the chest armor anywhere else besides his chest unless his main guns are attached to it. Also, the hips really needed ratchets out to the sides - he does the splits WAY too easily if you press down too hard at the wrong angle. The chunk of circuitry that fills in his cockpit needs somewhere else it can store on him, since I like to put a Primemaster in his pilot's seat, but I also like to keep all of the pieces together. His hands also tend to flop around a lot at the conversion joints, and the wrists are pretty loose.

IMHO, he needs the antennas from TFSafari to make his head look complete with the battle mask on.

However, even at US$80 bucks, he's a must-have. I got mine from a third-party seller on Amazon. I then got a second one at Walmart! He's on sale at a lot of places right now for less than MSRP, so get him while you can. :thumb :thumb

Starting at 7:42 of this video, Robstein One shows that some of the weapon accessories for Jetfire can be further disassembled in ways I hadn't previously discovered!

On the one hand, this makes them more modular. On the other hand, it just deepens the mystery of what the heck they were thinking when they designed those accessories: for all the extra pieces this guy comes with, there's still not much you can really *do* with them, especially in jet mode.

Use your imagination. Just use the weapons to armor up your other figures. That twin cannon split in two parts can be used as a shield and gun on your deluxe figures.

The dual cannon being able to split apart was discovered quite some time ago. Not really sure the reasoning, as the cannon piece looks pretty stubby, but options are always good things.
Incidentally, the black panel lining on white plastic looks, well, bad. Gray would have looked so much more realistic and professional.

Got this figure down again the other day to mess around with, and of all the Siege figures I think he has the most enjoyable alt mode. That jet is downright massive.

My best guess: Potential alternate parts options on their mould sprues for remoulding as a different character remoulded from Jetfire's gear.
What character that might be, well, I'm stumped! :p

    Yes, I know.

Agree there. I would use some subtle red, too.

Yup. White and super light grays usually get a hit with the technical pencil and then lightly misted with clear coat to prevent smudges once satisfied. The black on white panel lining always seems way over the top and detracts from the actual design.

Unless I'm breaking out the airbrush. But that seems like madness on a figure as carved up as Jetfire here is.

The Wing Gundam Zero cannon needed to be discovered? I thought it was the first thing people saw with that handle.

Men, that cannon is one of my favorite things of this figure! Yes, I'm also a Gumdan collector.

    Pros:

-Is just the right size, not to big, but not too small.
-Has all the standard articulation points, plus sorta-articulated fingers
-Hiding hand port is neat, should be standard on all large figures now
    -TR reverse compatibility
    -Huge rifle(s)
-Figure handles on bottom of jet
-Has really good stability, even on a windy day he didn't fall over
    -Can look up and down
-He doesn't have that "cheap" feel that the TR leaders did.

    Cons:
-Wrists don't tab in very well
-left shoulder tends to unlock when moving the arm out
-Elbows are a little weird, and can look off if not lined up properly.
-Slight case of exposed head syndrome

The stand? It's the Launch-Arm stand for Yamato/Arcadia Valkyries: 株式会社アルカディア / マクロス ヴァリアブルスタンド

It really just barely works with the Siege Jetfire, unfortunately.

It's been out of stock for awhile, but you can prolly get a used-copy at some online shops. Prepare to get scalped for it, tho...

Are they going to do anymore CC figures or is Jetfire a one off? I've been messing with him lately, more and more I feel like this toy began it's life as an MP design. Seige is a good line and all, but this figure is so much better than the others it just doesn't fit.

Maybe nothing to it. I felt the same way about CW Devy he also seems like a stripped down MP to me. Personally I display Seige Jetfire with my MPs and T30 still holds the CHUG spot.

He fills a similar spot for me, and is a far more accessible (and more detailed) option than the FT version. He has the bare bones framework for a good MP if they made him a little less "hollow" in jet mode (if viewed from the wrong angles, the "siegeness", as opposed to MPness, is painfully obvious).

Solid feet and articulated hands, and he would check *most* of the MP boxes for me... as it is, I dont think I could have asked for a better Jetfire for the money!

Yes, the upcoming Earthrise Skylynx appears to be the next Commander class figure. Should be oficially revealed this weekend, too.

I might be interested as part of the micromasters base eco system but I usually don’t care for TF’s that don’t have a humanoid bot mode
