What's the matter, having trouble keeping it up? Don't worry, it happens to everyone. Well, everyone that's not me innuendos
Between a USAG sale, a 2 dollar PayPal credit, and a year of selling stickers on Redbubble, I was able to finally get the 1/100 Lupus, for around 15 dollars after shipping. Been eyeing that one for a solid two years. I've also got the Try Burning on the way from Amazon. My goal is to one day have the Build as well so I can mix and match the translucent parts, but I think I've spent enough for now.
When it was cradling the gun with both hands no problem, but when it was just resting in one hand off to the side, that's another story. My problem turned out to be a weak, cracked polycap.
I wonder if this will lead to MGs of the Season 2 suits? I don't care as much for the movie ones (especially the strange Raphael Gundam), so I'd be happy with just having the Arios, Cherudim and Seravee to complete the TV series suits. But I'd still be just happy with a complete MG S1 cast.
I finished assembling the Magnum custom I started months ago. The gunmetal paint was being stubborn, which I think is why I took a break. The thighs will need another coat, but I think the other white parts I was going to do will just stay that way. It still needs a name though... Maybe just the AGE II Blanc?
Bandai's a creature of habit so I don't doubt they would, but perhaps Cheridum and Arios would be P-Bandai, much like how the EW Wing suits were. Albeit, Seravee would probably be a new cast altogether as its a tad different in design vs the Virtue, so that might just be a regular release. Regardless I'm just content with the S1 cast of suits being in MG form. Virtue's going to have a massive box, maybe even The-O size.
I'll be willing to bet they would make those mass retail, but I do not see any Season Two 00 machines coming within the next two years at least. - I opened the PowereDaban Red tonight to get a feel for the parts and get started with it. I only have a PDF file construction manual, but for the most part, it reads like a Kotobukiya model more so than a Bandai Gunpla. In any case, I'm finding some molding errors, flashing, and excess skin to clean off around edges. This though, required some surgery to remove. A whole ridge of flash on the surface, swelling into the cheek vent on the right side of the head. This is why I have my x-acto pen blade! A few nicks and a sanding later... It'll clean up when I get to finishing it. Don't mind the red paint, that was me setting a few points for my painting pattern. I'm also doing something a little differently on the black parts, using diluted red acrylic to fill details, outlining surfaces I'll paint over later after I prime them. An easy, simple clean up but using the red paint like this really brings out the frame of Red Frame. Now, for the (second) real reason I bought this... 150 Gerbera Straight!! Again, I failed to realize just how big this is going to be. I might just have to get a four to five foot length of material to make a physical sword blade and turn this into the original 150 Meter Gerbera, and not just the Lohengrin cannon! After I took this picture, I realized I have the long center portion backwards... At first I was hesitant to use my Tamiya panel accent on these painted parts expecting it would eat through the paint, so I used my Rapidoliner while testing the other method on a scrap of runner plate. However, it turns out the panel accent works safely, and I managed to detail the pommel very quickly. And so, moved on to the next pieces! Now comes the fun part with prepainted parts. Fixing their mistakes. It's hard to see, but the green painted area of the emitter had covered most of the outer silver surface. So I did a quick runaround with a microbrush and traditional silver enamel.
The thing with the Raphael, though, is that in the off case that we actually get an MG version, it makes a strong case for an MG Gadessa/Garazzo/Gaddess, to which I say "YES PLEASE". Love those things to death. Revive's Gadessa especially, because those colours are beautiful. And if it bothers you that much, maybe there can be a P-Bandai kit of the MSV version that wears the Seravee as armour, rather than as a funny hat.
Since we've already gotten the Master Grades Avalance Exia and Repair II as exclusives, I keep waiting for the announcement of more 00 MSV like Dynames Torpedo and Exia Repair III. Though Exia Repair IV would be a real surprise seeing how there's a figure of it coming out too. Right now Bandai wants to work on kits from Season One before they have Ebikawa focus on redrawing the Season Two designs with his higher detail. According to a friend of mine who gets information like @Squee does from people close to Bandai sources, they've actually got him putting together concept drawings for a Master Grade Core Gundam. **I've asked her to send me the picture she posted on MeWe a couple weeks ago, so when she responds I'll share it here**
Nothing about it "bothers" me, I'm just saying that I'm not wanting the movie suits as much as I am the S2 ones. It's not like I'd throw a fit if Bandai announced MGs of the movie suits. :/
I had actually started doing something like this in July of 2017 for the official Metal Build 150 Gerbera Straight handle, but put it aside and got distracted by other projects and haven't gotten back into it. Partially because it needed a ton of hand-filing (I was originally going to use a belt-sander to help me grind the bevels, but really got distracted) Used black ABS plastic, and hand-carved the same tang insert/connector that normally comes with the handle. I upscaled an image of the standard 1/100 Gerbara Straight to the 150 Gerbera handle to get the final size/proportions that I ended up going with.
I still haven't built my MG Dynames, but glad to see Kyrios is coming. Very excited to see what they do with Nadleeh/Virtue, if they do make it. Which I wholly assume they will.
If they're teasing what kits come next according to the box art, like how Dynames predicted Kyrios... we're almost ten years behind on that Master Grade Brave Commanders Type.
Neat... I might try that! I have nearly 90% of the 150 Gerbera finished. I really like how they did most of this kit, and these jewel inserts are gorgeous. The bare grip with the heak sink hinges set took no time at all and the handle coming together in sections masks its seams perfectly. The switchblades that form the guard are interesting, and this is where the three shades of gold come together, once I get the katars built. I'm not happy about chipping the coating on prepainted but the areas disappear when it's all folded down. One flaw to this kit and its prepainted parts is the weak spray on some areas, but to their advantage, these spots are covered by intersecting pieces. The red details were my doing, and I'm kind of leaning towards painting the faces on the katar blades for the front and back of the guard. It's something I've done before on my Master Grade's Gerbera Straight as well... but not right now. It was around this point, while I was grinding through the process to set these vent plates in the handle and detail them, to print up the .pdf construction manual. The fixed section of the pommel is in place, as well as the hand grips which I still want to detail paint. I just had to see how it all looks opened up. Wow. This thing is just that awesome by itself! For spits and giggles. Even while I put off the PG Gp01 for now, its maintenance rack is coming in handy for general use and a size comparison.
