I've been out of Transformers for a while. It looks like it's been 5 years since I've been here on this board. We did see the Bumblebee Movie and I got the kids a Bumblebee TF back then.

I just discovered the Siege Transformers this week and it sucked me in. They are such good representations of G1 so I had to get them all. For me, I got all the Decepticons, Megatron, Soundwave, Shockwave, Starscream, Thundercracker, Refraktor, Laserbeak, ravage, and also I have Astrotrain is on order.

I got a bunch of Autobots for the kids. Rachel got Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Bluestreak and Beachcomber. Ethan got Ultra Magnus, sideswipe, Wind Charger and Inferno. I don't think Inferno is part of the Siege line, but ordered it off amazon with the others.
I got a couple Siege Autobots for myself too, Mirage, Hound and Ironhide.

Over Christmas break we've been watching a bunch of G1 Transformers cartoon and got through the most of the first two seasons. On top of getting all these TF this week, Rachel put some of her Christmas money in for a Jetfire on order too!

Here's my Decepticon army growing, Lazerbeak and Refraktor came in the mail after the pic...

What appeals to me is that they look so good in robot mode. I like that they transform into something, but mostly see these as action figures in Robot mode representing G1.

must just be mind. I ended up putting the red bot in the middle I like the way it looks more anyway it breaks up all the blue this way plus that hole isn’t as tight.

I have the stress mark on one of my purple reflectors. When I got the three pack I didn't even risk trying to use the stand.

One noticeable thing about Astrotrain is that he converts into a train mode with a blatant 5mm peg for a train chimney that should be able to host 5mm pegs... but can't. Fireblast effects flop about inside of it.

What happens is that each chimney half tucked away in his shuttle cockpit/train head assembly has 4 plastic cast points. These nubs are VERY thin, easily micrometers in height, but both chimney halves in both sides have the same points on the same spots, so they wind up pushing into each other and creating a micrometers-wide gap that stops the chimney halves from fully meeting up to each other.

Just (CAREFULLY) shave the points off on both sides - all 4 of them on both sides, and you'll be able to use the chimney top for small fireblast effects (Aimless' red wispy bolts fit really snugly now). It won't be able to accept larger fireblast effects (like those that come with Jetfire) let alone weapons because the newly tightened 5mm peg can only go down for maybe 3mm before it hits that peg-socket assembly inside the chimney - that thing should have been placed a few more millimeters down further. Unfixable unless you don't mind destroying and scraping out that entire assembly.

Check the attachment - but don't mind that gory gash below. My Astrotrain had one pin that was hammered in at an angle and I had to rip it out because it was damaging and deforming the surrounding plastic and resulting in a train cab whose wheel refused to lower without slanting out at an angle.

As a bonus, I figured out how to incorporate the cargo cabin as a harness for two extra guns as opposed to just being strapped to Astrotrain's back like some unwieldy (and back-heavy) cargo crate backpack. The wings need to be swiveled back one notch to accommodate these arms aiming directly forwards. Check the pictures.

Spinister was one of two semi-late Christmas gifts I just received and he is ever so delightful. Proportions, color scheme, articulation, transformation, it all just comes together to make a grade-A figure. Definitely a highlight of the Siege line for me.

My Bluestreak has the same exact issue out of the box. I used contact cement to glue it in place.

Spending the morning cleaning up and thought I would share how I store my boxes.
    1. I keep the background thing inside the packaging.
    2. I then take those and pack them away along with the instructions into the Skywarp Phantom Strike Patrol box.
    3. I open and cut away half of the boxes, leaving behind the back and side (which has the black light effect and character art.)
    4. I then take those, along with the Skywarp box and pack them inside Jetfire's box.
    5. That, in turn, has gone into a black storrage box where I also keep the MP Prowl american box (which is way too big). I have another tub filled with my MP boxes and my non-siege CHUG boxes/instructions (which are broken down and packed similarly).

Why do I think this goes in the appreciation thread? Because I really like the box art and black light effect and am saving that part. I eventually want to make a picture frame (or two) as a kind of poster of the box art (autobots and cons).

Here is an example of the waste I am tossing.

My son set up a little battle and asked me to take a picture. He received Omega for Christmas.

It sucks but since i switched the base configuration theirs no more issues. Only negative about this line as a whole is quality control

Wow, I really love my new toy. This diorama set is great for pics. The lighting options it has combined with my photo filters on my phone have a really dramatic, moody effect. I’m still playing around with it, sorry if they’re not all good. Still in the experimental stage, but check out Crosshairs (who really is a badass with that shoulder mounted missile launcher. This will be my standard configuration for him.)

My autobot targetmasters are vastly outnumbered. These guys are simple and cheap, but I've had fun switching a few parts around.

Now that I've acquired Trenchfoot, that may be how I pose him in 'bot mode with his original gun. Thanks for the idea. :thumb

What really sold me on Astrotrain was that his feet lock in unlike a certain other triple changing autobot.

Helpful tip, kinda hard to see in my pic. Cut off the stock of the launcher. Makes it a lot less cumbersome and more aesthetically pleasing in either mode.
