...but poorly-articulated doesn't mean poorly-sculpted...



...or poorly-painted, which they aren't.



In fact, they're among the most accurate figures ever produced at this scale.

Learn this from me, then: five points of articulation may mean "retro," but it doesn't mean "crap."
"ReAction" means "crap."

Mind you, that packaging artwork is fantastic.

in this particular case I would argue that the lack of detail and simple paint is acceptable under the pretense of being cartoon like, but I won’t even try to make excuses for the majority of the re action line

other than hardcore nostalgia for the full aesthetic of vintage 5poa, or collecting them like funko pops because they have stuff from a ton of licenses, I really don’t get the appeal, especially with the prices going up

Agreed, the packaging is definitely the highlight, and also was the perfect size to fit all of them a weird place on my wall, but for the price especially after messing with soundwave I rethought my plan as I’m not certain it’s worth it for what I’m essentially treating as a poster

Im not sure why I started to collect vintage star wars besides the fact of nostalgia. I love the figures but to vet the last 17 is costly! I never liked the modern ones.... But now im thinking I was wrong from those pics. Latley I have been getting vintage gi joes.

 

Certainly, yeah. AKOM gives ReAction Transformers a good excuse for looking crappy, as it's quite accurate to their particular brand of "animation." The rest of their product line has no such excuse.  

A uniquely good challenge!  

That's the only reason I hang onto mine. I loved them as a child.
Vintage Transformers, on the other hand, never appealed to me even as a kid.  

Yeah, I don't think I'll ever own a set of these figures in their original packaging.  

But... why? Modern Star Wars figures are superior to vintage ones, by every conceivable metric...!



You don't have to be a collector -- or even a Star Wars fan -- to see how much better Hasbro has done.
