Okay FT, there's definitely a negative opinion about MP Hound gaining ground. Time for a rerelease!

Is there? What specifically? I’ve seen pretty positive reviews so far. I won’t go into the official forums here anymore on account of previous bad experiences with those who hang out there.

Broken hinges. Not any specific hinges either. Mine came broken out of the box.

That's a shame. Paying good money on something that breaks easily should never happen. One of the reasons why I'm hesitant on buying official.

The more pics I see of MP Hound the more content I am with FT Willis. I wouldn't say I have a negative opinion of the MP, just that like most of the recent official MP releases it's selling something I don't really want: super toon accuracy and superior articulation at the price of more visible panel lines and transformation joints.

Plus, I'm done with original Ark crew. My MP group looks cohesive and like they're all from the same line. If I go down the toon route, I'm essentially starting from square one again or at best muddying the aesthetics of my existing Ark crew. Nope, there's gestalts and other characters out there I want to complete. There's a market for what TakaraTomy's doing now, and I totally get what they're doing and why it's a good idea. I'm just not entirely that customer at this point.

Well honestly I was gonna get the FT one, but the aftermarket prices made it as much or more that Takaras. So I went official with the total being $128 which didn't seem all that bad. These QC issues are terrible though. If my return comes broken, I will just get a refund and wait on Hound

Even though I love most of my FT figures, I've never been the biggest fan of Willis. But after reading about the huge problems of the official TT figure I'm really glad to own him. He's 4 years older and a bit dated with his pre-reboot aesthetics but he doesn't break when you transform him, has a better face sculpt and didn't cost me $160! Also FT would have helped me out if something had broken on my copy.

I still like my MT Gundog toon variant. I have an MP Hound on preorder but might skip it if it's trash.

MP-44 had wonky knee joints, let's not forget. This seems to be a pattern of charging more for same or less quality than before.

The new TT MP-47 double-hinge ankles look like wobbly trash as well. Just waiting to break with normal use. Can't we get a solid ankle design for Hound? Really? Is it that hard?

Glad MP-47 will be my last official MP. I mean I will always be happy to buy those for 30 bucks. But no more.

As a former Willis owner, the only issue I ever ran into was the loose ankles. To this day, it's still a really great bot with some avoidable tolerance/clearance issues.

I have MP-47 and LOVE the look and have had zero issues....so far. However, I'm with @divinecomedy on this one. I think this will be my last TT MP. The 3P companies are making comparable bots with better materials these days. The last 3 TT releases are very similar to XTB Dragstrip and Deadend to me. Both of those have issues as well, but you can get them for half the price of an official bot. I'm just not sure it's worth it anymore.

Well that’s pretty crappy to hear. TT’s QC has been terrible of late. Both my MP-44/45 were damaged out of the box, which is inexcusable. That said, FT’s QC has also been hit and miss this year. Willis also has fairly well documented issues. I got mine very cheap as the seller said the ankles were broken, but it was more a case of loose screws so I got away without gluing it. Almost broke the peg swapping the head though. That thing was crazy tight. I do prefer the look of the official Hound, but I’ll be keeping Willis as it’s a nice looking piece in its own right.

    Right‽

I just watched Paik's video review on MP47 and he even warns about possible risk of breaking the ankle joint. I will gladly deal with loose screws and having to glue them in place then what I saw there. I'm just happy my Willis hasn't loosened yet.

I was thinking of moving my FT Willis on after getting MP47 ... maybe if my replacement from AJP is actually good. Stupid broken (not even transformed out of box) first one.

I think the TT one is a better figure overall if it wasnt for the breakages which is a dealbreaker for me...If you are in the market for a Hound i suggest you wait for the KO...I owned Willis and loved it but engineering or poseabilty wise is not at the same level..He has great paint and materials and he looks great in both modes but changing between them is not fun and also the fact that you have to remove all the accessories for transformation is annoying too as i dont like having parts laying around depending on which mode i wanna keep him, also what really bigged me is that there was no storage for his shoulder cannon in vehicle mode

Yes. A customer should get a quality product and for the price they paid for it. I'm waiting for a V2 or a KO of MP-44. I can't justify paying that much if it's going to break even if I'm careful with it.

Only issue you'll have with mp44 is using the knees wrong but once you know how it works then you're sorted. It's an odd scenario but it is what it is.

Still my figure of the year hands down.

Three different people on FB have reported broken pegs for bis shoulder gun as well.
