Is the weathered one worth the $75 that BBTS is selling him for?

Sounds like there's a lot of headaches that comes with it?

I don't have the original, but was thinking about the weathered one. Do the pros outweighs the cons for $75 if you are a Bludgeon fan?

 

Totally worth it if you don't have one already. It looks incredible in person and is very posable. It's just 'fiddly.'

 

I bought mine for about 80 and I'd say the figure itself is worth that price. Now, I had to send mine back and forth three times because I kept getting a defective copy, so keep that in mind.

A complete and working figure is totally worth 75 though.

 

I haven't read through this thread but I recently got a battle damaged Susasnoo and the QC is really really bad

So far, the peg for his sword broke, one of the clips on the rocket pod broke, One of the fins on his helmet broke, and he didn't come with a thumb. Does anyone know if this was a widespread issue? I'd love to have this mold without fearing breaking it.

Got my weathered Susanoo finally after a massive customs debacle here... He looks fantastic and no faults in bot mode at all but after handling him a little I'm probably never going to transform. I'm almost certain I'll break it somewhere along the line

 

Massively on the fence about this one, is he worth it?

 

I got the weathered version. I think that the colors blend much better in this more muted form. The 1st release release reminded me too much of the garish colors that G2 transformers had.

He is a bit of a floppy mess and is very fiddly. However, his presentation is amazing. Looks beautiful once posed, and he has some innovative engineering. It seems that DNA had great ideas, just not the skills to pull everything off 100%.

Totally worth the $75 at BBTS.

I have zero connection to the character from RotF. I just think that he is an awesome looking toy.

 

I want it. I probably would never transform him.. But I don't want him to fall off my shelf?!  

 

One you get him into a pose, he is pretty rock solid. The ratchets on the thighs are crazy tight (scary that you will break the plastic rather than just move the leg if you aren't careful).

 

Hey so haven't gone through the thread yet, but can someone tell me if there are fixes for this guy? My main issue is the hips. I have no idea what orientation they are meamt to be in, and it's super finicky and one of the ratchets pushes a leg further than the other.

Also the knees are so finicky and I don't get the point of the extra joint besides articulation, since its making it even more difficult to stand him than it already is.

The whole figure is a mess, although I love how he looks. Can anyone help me out?

 

I don't know about Arashi or DS-01EX, but I got the unweathered version, Susanoo DS-01.

I was excited about it, but it's the first bot I can't recommend buying. Tell me why a samurai should be so fragile. It's a model pretending to be a Transformer.

Same here. I had zero connection with the character. The bot just looked too cool to pass up. That being said, be careful buying the unweathered version, DS-01; it's too fragile for my collection.

 

Not every company's first figure launch ends up a FansHobby or Open/Play. In fact, most 3P companies first figures are wrecks, with the ones managing to gain any traction relying on design moreso than materials IMO.

I have this figure. I like it a lot. He looks great. Yes, he has some fiddly bits, but he's miles above most traditional offerings and beats out the glut of offerings at the time, being largely free of defects and more suffering from the materials he's made of moreso than anything else.

That said, I'm consolidating and leaving TF collecting outside of the rare "need it for the MP shelf" figure, so if anyone wants mine, I have a 1st ed of the figure I'll let go for like $65 plus whatever for shipping, unless someone has something fun to trade.
