Hound’s Spike is the proper scale for the MP figures.

i'm actually proper hyped for this can't wait to get it i think it's looking superb , i might end up putting a bit of blu tack under the neck  

 

Couple of suggestions of a + version?... How much more toon acurate could this be?

 

 

I'd be talking about a plus version along the lines of MP-36+, so more toy than toon. This is too toon for me.

 

In the toon he never had a giant swing arm attached to his head. Maybe TT should get rid of that.

 

I totally agree. The whole implement the rocket launcher into the transformation is a bad decision IMHO. Not ans bad as Tracks with his tiny missile launchers but that hinge and the fact that the missile is long and skinnier than it should PLUS the missile being non removable. But...oh well lol.

 

so the + releases thus far in Wheeljack, Silverstreak, Smokescreen, Prowl, Sideswipe and Red... nothing has changed for the transformation and design itself... just the colours? Blue windows, matt colouration, (head sculpt on Smokescreen?) less / removal of decals. I was under the impression the "+" stood for a more toon accurate aesthetic? or is that wrong?

 

Yeah I though the "+" meant "toon" as that's where the majority of the + versions have gone right? For a more cartoon aesthetic...

 

...anyone with spike in-hand willing to throw him up against the masterpiece cassettes in a few shots?..i really like the way the larger human figure scales, but some variation's actually a good thing to represent the vastly different vehicle and media scales across the line...

...now that the base figures focus upon animation models by default, these days plus-versions indicate toy-based deco-schemes, and i welcome them...i still prefer when masterpiece figures re-interpreted a real-world hybrid of what the toys and media together aspired to represent, but i'll take what i can get...

 

The + version could be looked at as an "opposite" of the non + version.

 

Previously yes, but this has been mostly to align older releases with the recent toon stylings. Going forward I'd expect plus versions of newer figures to be other (non toon) decos...much like MP-36+ was.

So this guy seems to have better QC than other recent TT releases? I haven’t seen any complaints with the paint or build quality, so that sounds pretty good to me.
