Yawn, yaawwnnn, yaawwwwnnnn... a lot of words to alter the initial point & then respond, but whatevs... the holiday is winding down so I’ll take a few moments to respond with a few knee jerk reactions... and a bunch of words of my own
[hey, a point for each remaining day of the year]

    36EA0828-3834-4E79-9E88-B48B73A63A6E.jpeg

    1) So, you type “the key point isn’t having a deluxe-size figure...”??? Uhh, the initial comment I replied to (screenshot & highlighted above in green) was 1/2 OSKO to deluxe-scale and 1/2 OSKO to larger-scale... but I guess me addressing half isn’t “key”. Sure.

    2) you brought up Iron factory, and I used the same company to point out that the IF seeker was OS’d to deluxe, (or “barely deluxe” as you put it) and demonstrated that what’s probably the most popular to market, non-Optimus Prime transformer (due to the mileage companies can milk out of the seeker mold iterations) didn’t sell too well. If companies are primarily creating figures to make money (KO or otherwise), why would they want to pursue a size that didn’t sell that well when...(3) and more importantly (4)

    3) some official legends and wip figures were OS’d to voyager scale and that briefly came and went without much noise, and

    4) MFT’s legends+ scale is KILLING IT!!! I mean their numbering scheme for releases is in the high 40s after just a few years with probably more than half that count having color variants that have also sold well. And that’s not including (a) the figures branded under different company names but are likely associated with MFT or (b) the hot soldiers line that’s also legends+.

    5) it seems you’re complaining about MFT’s $25 price for their dinobots, but the MFT figures are ALWAYS less expensive than the figures they’re
OSKO’ing, dinobots included (I think wip dinos were $36 each). And by the way, MFT’s initial dino releases at $25 were the metallic ones that surprisingly came with a diaclone bonus, and then by the time the toon colored ones came out, they were in the ‘normal’ $17-$20 range, and this summer were $13 each from baba before his bonus coupon discounts.

    6) But pricing aside, the MFT dino size befits the characters within their SAME SCALE, ie the dozens of legends+ MFT figures released prior to them that were selling well.

    7) I get you and a few others might want ‘full deluxe’ scaled legends figures, but there hasn’t been a proven demand when the waters were tested (I’m literally laughing as I type that phrase ‘full deluxe’ as if there weren’t enough rants about what is/isn’t CHUG scale... now this term). Reality is: OS’zing to MP scale has demonstrated to make money for KOers, and OS’zing to legends+ scale has demonstrated to make money. Deluxes?? Well, those just get KO’d at 1:1 scale or KO’d to something bigger.

Me personally, I prefer bigger bots that are 1/24 scale, so the MPP and MMP get the most of my attention, but will pick up items that are OS’d to MP scale (well, I’ve picked up various OS’d to voyager figures too:lol ).

But hey, people will collect what they want and complain for what they want. Just don’t be surprised if you’re waiting 40 years for it and possibly don’t get it at all.
2019 saw the celebration of the 35th year, so hang in there, or don’t.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As I'm trying to pick my brain here, what Legends figures have tested those waters exactly? Only one that comes up is the IF Starscream, but people were likely hoping for a voyager figure for that one. Any others that were brought up to the old school deluxe and voyager sizes I can't think of?

Yeah, but the machineboy (I think its MB?) version was upsized to a good size, it's the one in between the wfc and T30 bumblebees.

    20180415_163608.jpg

Plus, those older oversized foc optimii that came out were the perfect upscale.

And the fireguts version was my fav.

I wasn't into FOC's Optimus, but that upsize I'd forgotten about. He looks so much better just for being that big. Were there any limitations on the figure?

I’m all for chug scale knock offs. I don’t buy masterpiece scale or legends scale.

You know, I actually picked up the MFT dinobots at a pretty steep discount and I really wanted to like them, but you basically hit the nail on the head. Though it doesn't help that MFT somehow screwed up the tolerances on sludge to the point that he doesnt transform into robot mode correctly. :/

Wow that thing looks incredible, any hints on what to search for on aliexpress to find it? Also does it have a hip swivel?

Nah, I've never used Ali, so I have no idea what their search engine is like... I don't recall a hip swivel.

    Here's the MB oversized

MB Legends OS Bumblebee - TF - SirToys.com

Here's the WJ oversized-oversized with diecast

WJ Legends OS Bumblebee - TF - SirToys.com

For 2 bucks more, you get a whole lot more robit... wish they made a cliffjumper though.

That's both of these compared in this pic...

Very solid. Ratchet's bot mode "bumper" is known to stick so you might want to spray a little lube into the hinge before you try to fold it out.

Agreed, I was making piss poor wages when those MPs came out so the KOs were my best option. That they were of decent quality was a very pleasant surprise. I have a few of the carbot KOs and they're pretty dodgy.

only straight ko ive gotten is hot rod (for my 3h wreckers since the mp scaled better with bw stuff). recently ive gotten into mp stuff thanks to ectotron and the sdcc prime, which led me to getting the thf clear soundwave and megatron, clear quakeblast and mp-3g ghost starscream. beyond those im pretty much going budget on that scale (including upscaled siege and discounted 3p stuff and ko mp). hoping to find a few more clear mp scale figures (including autobots) but so far i think ive gotten a pretty good start (so much so that i need a new shelf before my kos start coming in haha)
