Gorgeous paint job. Like the silly morningstar. Only issue I have is his arms pegging into the top of the jet mode. The go in, then pop back out.

Mine had the same issue at first, but with a little bit of massaging on the shoulder joints and the neck hinge to lay them all down nicely got the back tabbed in securely.

I hate the instructions so largely didn't follow them. Transformed by massaging my way through.

Anyways, great figure except for the shoulders already going loose due to the murder flail Kratos chain sword Scorpion hook.

I untab the shoulders to enable butterfly hinge articulation as well as more expressive posing. This guy looks crazy. Off the bat, you can tell this guy is not good. Also untabbed because the tip of the jet nose in robot mode, hinders the neck articulation. In addition, mine had a minor assembly error.

On the hips, there are 2 spacer parts that seem designed to keep the hip in place. One was installed correctly, the other bowed out with stress marks. I also did notice some excess flash for 1 of the pegs that a screw goes through on the bottom torso. The spacer had a gap that the other side lacked so it wouldn't screw together flush. I somewhat alleviated it by sanding down the problematic spacer and shaving off the flash. What this was doing was not only making a gap, but also stressing the plastic since the screw ports were starting to bend, same for the plastic around them. After my "fix", not as much stress marks.

Is the spacer tab needed per hip? So far, maybe not as the legs stay on place fine on their own.

Transformation was actually where I was very surprised. The leg transformation is awesome. There may be other movie 1 Megatron figures that transform without wings on the back but if there are, I don't recall any. I think this is the main area where this figure one-ups the Masterpiece. I would've never imagined that the wings folded up into the lower legs. Makes for a boxier silhouette but the fact that it doesn't form a backpack impresses me more.

Paint job is excellent, it's not so much the amount of paint, but like leader Grimlock, it's the colors chosen via layers. The main body is dark grey with mainly silver paint on certain(but not all) parts. It's a clever use of minimal paint. Kudos to the Hasbro designer who mapped it out.

Robot mode also has that secondary heel that enables you to literally have Megatron standing on his tippy toes yet still remain stable. I don't know who the fuck has been designing Megatrons for the past 2-3 years but whoever that is, is doing a damn great job. By renders, this was the most underwhelming looking Megatron to me in recent history but in-hand my mind has been changed completely.

Just missing the arm cannon and it's tricky for me to tab the back into the shoulder plates in robot mode, possibly due to the messed up hip spacer tab I mentioned earlier.

In addition, this is one of the rare instances where I think a figure overwhelmingly surpasses the original figure(save for sturdiness). This is far better than the 2007 voyager, accuracy aside(since it's a given this is more accurate). Never really understood the forward wing flapping gimmick on the original and absolutely hated the spring loaded feet. Deco and arm cannon was cool, that was about it.

The Studio Series 2007 Megatron reigns supreme.

Looks like DOTM rifle fits 2007 Megatron somewhat. There is a peg to attach the rifle but haven’t figure out how to make it like the big cannon. I think the rifle was originally part of 2007 Megatron cannon (?)

OMG..if thats how that shit was ..youve made the "Retroactive TF movie find" award JUST in time to catch 2019.

That..so looks like its plausible. Thinking about his "shot gun" in the movie..and how it changed from his integrated gun in TFTM, to his handheld could be an entire comic run.

Man I am loving this figure way more than I expected!
He is really posable! 20191224_151731.jpg 20191224_151713.jpg
His legs don't look bad at all in hand and the paint really pops (but I still added some of my own). Really surprised by this figure!

Didn't have any interest in DOTM Megs, but seeing how great that gun looks with 2007 Megs is making me reconsider that

    ALL HAIL MEGATRON!!!

MAN! My hype was thru the roof for this one, and when I did finally SEE it..holy SHIT does this one look glorious in box.

Im going to go out and say, THIS Megatron, may be the finest looking boxed figure in the entire studio line. It just looks amazing in hand.

Articulation is VERY good, and I have zero issues with the legs, for being able to store THAT much wing, and keep the movie look its a work of engineering that should be appreciated by TF fans.

A very well thought out tabbing system for jet mode, makes Megatron a brick...whereas the MP is brilliant, I have to say this Voyager my do the alt mode a bit better. Its just FUN all around, looks JUST like him in the movie, and exudes the character from the movies.

Im a total studio series fanboy...That said, this to me is one of the finest movie megatrons ever made, and probably the best voyager megatron in movie toys, just barely beating out the ROTF mold.

Now having the DOTM Megatron, The ROTF and TFM Megatrons..JEESH..They seriously did a fantastic job of scale on these. To get them all around the same size, and have such different alt modes is a masterstroke.

Days before the new year...this is my vote for Best Movie Voyagaer of the year. I would have to be reminded of a studio voyager thats better...but this one delivers, is rock solid, and has 2 INCREDIBLE modes.

Nice find with the DOTM gun. It looks great as an ad-hoc (at least) fusion cannon, and might very well be the actual part the designers had in mind.

I've got a question about a possible fan mode fusion cannon if someone who has this figure doesn't mind checking this out.
Is it possible to pull the jet mode nose cone out of his back, make that look like the cannon then rotate all his limbs and head around placing his hands so it looks like they are connected to the weapon?

Love this figure. Displays a lot better than the RoTF one.

Just got this guy. Love him. But is there anyway to store the weapon when not in use? I don’t like putting things in drawers if I don’t have to.

Just the ports on the lower legs, I haven't seen other ways to do so but I'd love to know if there are other ways.

I kind of find it humorous that the flail has a swivel joint. Can't really see a practical reason for it.

Probably just it has to be molded in two pieces and using that joint it didn't have to be glued in
